Hello! I'm trying to download an asset for a map called "tunnelbana preview"(<kuid2:56732:120457:9>) but I've got several warnings and errors. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
The map is called: Tunnelbana Preview (<kuid2:56732:120457:9>)
The faulty asset is called: PML3 ville quartier ancien 1 (<kuid2:169344:50002:1>)
Warning messages:
VE48: This asset uses an obsolete Trainz-build number. Trainz-build numbers below 3.5 are no longer supported.
VE62: Required container 'thumbnails' is missing.
VE39: The texture 'nuit/eclair1.jpg' is a uniform color.
VE109: The low-detail meshes total more than 500 polygons. This may have a negative impact on performance: 0: 2016
Error messages:
VE218: Asset has duplicate attached track at track 2.
VE218: Asset has duplicate attached track at track 3.

Error messages:
VE218: Asset has duplicate attached track at track 2.
VE218: Asset has duplicate attached track at track 3.
This is the problem with the asset. All spines are classified as tracks and since T: ANE, there can no longer be duplicate "track names" in the attachment lists.

You need to edit the config.txt file and remove the duplicates from the attachment lists.

@Gabs_Trainz > There is a newer version on the DLS, that you can use. No errors. <kuid:458053:107636> PML3 ville quartier ancien 1

Except with a different KUID it won't be a drop in replacement. It would need to be edited too, except this time changing the KUID of the asset to kuid2:169344:50002:2, and then doing a folder drag and drop to install.

Only then would it replace the faulty :1 asset.

<kuid2:169344:50006:1> PML3 ville quartier ancien 3 is showing on search of DLS and it downloads as <kuid2:169344:50006:2> PML3 ville quartier ancien 3 third party.

@frogpipe , @stagecoach , @Gabs_Trainz, @JCitron :

Sorry about that, I have several versions of the asset installed... got a little visually confused looking at them yesterday, LOL. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

<kuid2:169344:50002:1> PML3 ville quartier ancien 1 - Faulty
<kuid2:169344:50003:1> PML3 ville quartier ancien 2 - Modified
<kuid2:169344:50004:1> PML3 ville quartier ancien 1 trapeze - DLS
<kuid2:169344:50005:1> PML3 ville quartier ancien 2 trapeze - DLS
<kuid2:169344:50006:2> PML3 ville quartier ancien 3 - Modified
<kuid:458053:107636> PML3 ville quartier ancien 1 - Modified
<kuid:458053:107637> PML3 ville quartier ancien 2 - Modified

Here's is a Dropbox link for <kuid:458053:107636> PML3 ville quartier ancien 1 > PML3 Ville Quarter Ancien 1

I don't remember where I got all of the 3rd party versions, likely from one of the large French routes I have installed.

Maybe @vincentrh, the author of <kuid:458053:107636> PML3 ville quartier ancien 1, and <kuid:458053:107637> PML3 ville quartier ancien 2
can pop in and tell us where they are available from. I couldn't find them on his google site here > https://sites.google.com/view/buildings-roads/buildings

<kuid2:169344:50002:1> PML3 ville quartier ancien 1. Open the config file and remove the section from road 2 and road 3 as these are duplicates of road 0 and road 1 reversed.

Okay, thanks a lot! But can you replace an asset with another? Can I replace <kuid2:169344:50002:1> with <kuid:458053:107636>?
You could, but you'd have to plop the two assets side by side, in Surveyor, to see if they are the same size, placement etc.
Then make the switch.

Delete the following from the config file. There are only 2 roads used. The creator has correctly used road0 and road1 but road2 and road3 are just reversed settings of road0 and road1 hence the duplicate error.

road2
{
track <kuid:169344:29998>
useadjoiningtracktype 0

vertices
{
0 "a.road0b"
1 "a.road0a"
}
}

road3
{
track <kuid:169344:29998>
useadjoiningtracktype 0

vertices
{
0 "a.road0d"
1 "a.road0c"
}
}

I've done that now , and now all the error messages are gone. But all the 4 warning messages I had are remaining.
ricomon35, how should I edit the assets in Surveyor?
Thank you all for all the help I’ve gotten so far! 😀

@Gabs_Trainz > Open up the route for editing in surveyor.

Look for the city/town areas. The missing piece is a large city block grouping of buildings. All of those "ancien" assets are.

Where the missing piece is, will be a huge city block sized orange colored mesh outline showing placement of the asset. Plop and orient the asset I gave you the dropbox link for, or with another one of the same series. You can then choose "delete missing assets" under the wrench icon menu afeterwards to get rid of the orange mesh box, but only if you don't have any other missings to replace.

You can't overwrite someone else's route and save it as the same kuid, so, save the route, it will have to be a new route, using your trainz ID number. Add something into the name to make it easier to see in the route menu. I always add - Rico to any I clone, routes and sessions.

If there any sessions that belong to the original route, you will have to clone them and change the map kuid inside the config of the session to the new map kuid of your new route.

Or.

Preserve the route as is (and any sessions) by changing the KUID of the asset to a later version (I personally use :99 at the end) of the faulty asset - drag and drop the folder onto content manager and Bob's your uncle.
