Can this be installed as an add-on to TS2010 or TS12?

According to the description it can be installed as an add-on to TS2004 or TS2006, but I do not have a copy of either.
Would it work to install it as a standalone program and then copy the .ja file(s) to the TS2010/12 install?
I found this post but it seems to be unclear whether it refers to Train Driver (with the WSR) or Trainz Driver (the one with Marias Pass).
Any help appreciated.
