A CN local pulls into Lamport, MS a few days before the branch is to be sold to its new operator Lamport Northern. Originally owned by the Gulf, Mobile, and Ohio, the branch runs through 32 miles of pines and swampland between Damphousse, MS and Lamport, MS. Once a fairly busy mainline, the branch's traffic has dwindled after the IC was absorbed by CN.

These former Southern Pacific Railroad 2-8-2 mk-7 steam locomotives instead of being scrapped were sold to the Tidewater Western Railroad and reclassified mk-63 , one of these was seen taking on additional oil and water.

usually, a 2-8-2 Mikado or a much larger steam engine would handle a train like this one, but today there was trouble on the horizon, one of the recently acquired former Southern Pacific Railroad mk-7 now mk-63 oil-fired Mikado fleet members was having issues with its firebox, so a smaller steamer such as this 4-6-0 locomotive was called up to fill-in until the original engine was repaired and back in service.
