...we should wait for the official word from N3V. Didn't Tony say something on this line a few pages back?
Seriously guys, you have rehashed the rehash on the same subject.
John
Rather than saying something that will cause hurt feelings, we should wait for the official word from N3V.
Getting back to the main point, I have some questions:
What exactly does DRM do for N3V ?
Why does N3V choose to use DRM in the first place (there must be some specific reasons) ?
Does DMR allow N3V to disable your DLC, if they find one abusing it's content, (file sharing, redistribution) ?
If only N3V went out of business, and only the N3V servers were "no more in existance", would DRM effect Trainz, and DLC assets ?
If this thread gets locked where am I going to get my daily fix of paranoia?
Paul
Is DRM used primarily to keep "Warez" users out of the Game ?
.
Debating the pros/cons of DRM is entirely valid IMHO.
It might give N3V some idea on the feelings of their potential future customer base and could influence any final decision if you have something valid to add to the discussion.
“Wait and see”, isn't necessarily the best option.

In an ideal world you wouldn't need DRM.In an ideal world, this should be the only reason.
Is it me or is it a bit disconcerting in what people see as their priorities, that the TANE thread has dropped off the front page with the main topic of concern being the DRM. Not saying it shouldn't be an issue but is that really the priority over lobbying the company to spend whatever money they are pledged, on creating a kickbutt train sim which will trump all the others and endure for years to come?
until they release more information about what will happen and what they hope to will happen, there comes a point when we're just piling speculation upon speculation. Some might find that a fun game in itself but that now that the initial thoughts have been posted, serious posting will restart next week once the KickStarter project is launched. Is it me or ...
