Great shots! I love the narrative that explains what is going on with the helper. I didn't know that B&O used them in that area.

Wow, I just drove to the Deal summit on Jrfolco's Cumberland to Connellsville in TANE - I didn't load it into TRS19 yet. That is one beast of a climb. I think I hit the 2.00 % mark in the first tunnel. No wonder they needed helpers. I found the wye at the summit where you cut off the helper.

Both the WM and B&O had to use helpers over the Deal and Sand Patch grades. If you look down the tracks from the summits you can find helper tracks near the beginning of grades. I don't think there is a wye on the B&O though, they probably just backed down, that was the NW practice.
