Calling Bendorsey for some bridges

Hi Ben,

I was wondering if you would be able to make 3 bridges for me for my route. I know I can do GMax, but I think I will leave bridges to the expert, lol.

The first is a simple road bridge for Liskeard, used to cross the cutting which is station is in: http://railwaystations.fpic.co.uk/p60049560.html

The second bridge is a rail bridge at Weston Mill, Plymouth. It is double track and carries the Mainline. It has stone arched supoorts at either ends, and 4 metal arched section in the middle.
The best view of the side is in Google Streetview, by typing in "Weston Mill, Plymouth", the to the southwest there is a mini roundabout surrounded by a load of car parks for the naval base, look at the images from the mini roundabout for the middle arched sections.
This is what it looks like on the bridge: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/73417

The third and final bridge, is the Tavy Viaduct, crossing the river tavy, just before it joins the river Tamar on the Devon/Cornwall border. Its double width, as it used to be on the mainline from Plymouth to Exeter via Okehamption, however now the line is just a branchline, and only has a single track, which is on the western side (side from where the following photo was taken).

Here is what it looks like from the cab: http://trainz.neonw.com/tavy_viaduct.jpg (Taken from a cab ride DVD I have of the line).

Thanks Alot,
Mark

Yup - I missed it. Been getting a new computer on line and all the stuff switched over to it from the old one (which is on its last legs). Having to learn Windows 7 at the same time doesn't help either, lol.

Be glad to make them for you but I neeed more photos and information.

For Liskeard I need overall length, width, and height above the rails. A photo of the roadway would help to and the number of lanes (probably 2).

For Weston Mill I need overall length, length of the various spans, height above the water, and closer up photos showing the various spans and ends.

For the Tavy Viaduct same as for Weston.

Ben

Thanks Ben,

The Liskeard road bridge in Trainz need to be about 50m long, I think its shorter in real life, but due to the Trainz grid size in TC3 and below the cutting is quite wide. The height above the rails in Trainz is about 11m, and the width (measured in Google Earth) is about 10.5m.
There are two lanes of traffic, with pavements both sides and chevron markings between the two lanes.

Here is the road layout:

The Weston Mill Viaduct in Plymouth:

The overall length is about 346m, with the distance of the stone arched section at 60m long at both ends, and each metal span is about 54m long.
There are 3 stone arches at either end, and 4 metal spans in the centre.
The height above the water is 14m (according to Wikipedia).

Here are some more photos I have managed to find:

The Tavy Viaduct:

This one is a curve so the lengths were done using Google Earths path measuring tool.
The Overall length is 455m. The length of the spanned middle section is 295m long, and each span is about 36m long. There are 8 spans.
The section with the 2 stone arches at the northern end is about 35m long. And the section at the southern end with 7 stone arches is about 120m long. I'm not sure about the height above the estuary though.
Also remember this one is double width, but only has a single track on it now.

I hope all this helps :D

It might be a bit of a while. Between the new computer, learning Windows 7, getting a new printer to work (it took 4 before I got one that would work brand new right out of the box). My pending projects file has become a pile.

No problem Ben. I hope you don't mind but I think I will create the Liskeard road bridge myself, as I will be there soon, and it shouldn't be too difficult to create.

I will let you do the Weston Mill and Tavy ones as they are quite complicated, and I'm miles away from them at the moment.
