Just call my Captain Rude
Well its been a week and my copy of 2010 has still not been shipped. Its still pending shipping.

What the heck is going on up there in Queensland. Is there anybody left working at Auran at all.

In the past when I has placed orders with Auran depending on the time of day I had my disks the next day or the day after by express post.

Now, now...I'm sure it's just because 2010 is so wildly popular. They probably ran out of disks and are printing them individually as each order is placed!:hehe:

They ran out of disk one twice as fast because the first batch was flawed. Only disk two is of no use.

Received an email from a company called cordes sales ( cordessales.com ) that the DVD copy of TRS 2010 I ordered from the Auran website almost 3 weeks ago is being delayed.

"To whom it may concern,

Your order for Auran's Trainz Simulator 2010 on DVD has been delayed.

We are now having the software produced here in the US. It will be another 2-3 weeks before these will ship. We appreciate your patience in this matter and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely,

Chris Cordes , Cordes Sales, LLC
and All of us at Auran Games, Ltd and NeverFail Games"

Postage paid from Austrlia was never mentioned. This is the first email confirmation of my order that I have received.

Perhaps they have it in stock here:

Have fun,

N3V Games is the old Auran. It was incorporated in 2006 when Auran basically went belly up !!! (you remember, that naughty word that got everyone "Furious")
In other words, out of the Auran ashes of 2006 rose N3V Games Ply Ltd.

Trainz future development lies in there hands, so support them if you can...
Cheers, Mac...

I guess at this point it doesn't matter whether I want 2010 or not! Yes, yes, support the struggling little company, send them your money and receive nothing in return. Good business plan...

LOL Yeah it is out there, works fine as well for what you pay for it. I guess MSTS failed because they did not make a new edition each year when they only needed to provide a workable patch.

Some of you guys really do go down for Auran don't you?

aardvark1,
My apologies if it came across as me being sarcastic. (It wasn't meant that way). It was more designed to educate the newbies...
Cheers, Mac...
Do not think I would be classed as a newbie - been on the trainz track for the last 10 years so to speak .

Got better service when I orderd my copy of 2004, Auran looked after its people then, it was hand delivered by an employee of the company in person and it was installed for me, all it cost me was a cup of
Java. And I got a free T shirt as well.

Now that was good service.

As to giving a little bit of my cash to help the company develop the product line just had a quick scan of my planet auran order history - think I have paid my dues

msts is still around looking at some sites today. i thank they have more to offer when it cames to modern us freight trains something that trainz needs.

You have to give a lot of credit to the MSTS fans for keeping that sim alive. They've milked quite a bit out of it with the Bin patch and some of the newer models coming out for it are extremely well done. Shame about the route and scenario editors though. The AI is pretty weak as well. All in all not to bad for the $5 I found it for in a bargain bin several years ago though, still a fun play.

Ed,

My experience is quite different. I ordered the DVD, although it shipped late, they made me aware, then it had the bad disk problem and it was replaced all within three weeks. I imagine at least a week of that was the transshipment from Australia. I am very satisfied with their customer service, but a little disappointed with all of the content that either didn't transfer from 2009, did transfer and had errors or only partially transferred. Most of the engines I had in 2009 now have missing dependencies even though they didn't before the transfer.

Dan

Train20,
Didn't think you were. I was just complimenting a large group of very talented creators who continually breathe life into an older sim. Not comparing sims, just giving credit where credit is due. If some of those guys jumped there would be a lot of happy campers from just about anywhere content wise.

Dave.....
