Idle steam engines

On many of my routes in TRS2019, I like to have a handful of engines lashed up in the yards and out powering static trains. However, I noticed during one session I had to move one of these "static" engines. The fusible plugs had melted and I had absolutely zero pressure.

Is there a way to keep a full head of steam and sufficient pressure or at least a way to damp down the firebox so I don't melt the plugs or otherwise knacker my engines?

I guess the only way is to visit the loco's regularly to maintain water levels and steam pressures ?

Set auto fireman true in the locomotive properties in Surveyor, this will keep the water 70% and coal 100%.

Hi - Thanks for this info , I never knew this.

Certain engines for some reason won't let me activate the auto fireman
