Thanks so much for your help Zec. The new computer is up and running. The Southern Heritage locos have been extracted and installed. One thing that I find very annoying. I built the Turntable following Chuck Brites great write up. I got all my loco's on the stub tracks around the turntable and saved the game. The next morning the turntable was empty!. All the engines were back in the yard. How do you keep this from happening? The same thing occurs when I build a consist in the yards with the cars for a way freight. When I get ready to run the train when I turn on the computer, the cars are all scatted in the yard! I thought the one way system for building track was odd but these things are a bit strange. How do you run a railroad like this. I have rebuilt the six towns and two yards and I was hoping to get some of my model railroad operators into multiplayer with Trainz. Don Eisan

Hello Don and welcome to the Trainz forum.

What you have explained above, sounds like you have saved in the session, but not in the route, and anything you have saved in the session, will not be saved in the route.

Let me try and explain more, just to let you know this might be a little confusing, if your just getting used to Trainz.

If you save the changes in EDIT ROUTE, it will also save the changes in EDIT SESSION, so the session will be the same as the route. However, if you save the changes in EDIT SESSION, it won't save the changes in EDIT ROUTE, so your route will look exactly the same as it did before you made the changes, hence why no engines or consists were placed in the places you wanted.

My advice is, make the changes you need to make in EDIT ROUTE, and then click, SAVE AS, "Southern Model Railroad or whatever the name of your route is"

The above should fix your problem, if not please let us know, so we can help you further.

Hope this solves the problem your having.

You're opening a can of worms here. Is true that saving in edit route changes things in Edit session. But if you change splines.. the session get's messed, and then you go back to the route and is messed too. There has been many post about this before. Bottom lane is that if you are changing a spline, you should first delete that part of the spline first in the session, saving the deletion, then if you are lucky, modify the spline in the route and everything will may be OK. I have spent countless hours with this. Splines, or tracks. Objects and cars are no problem. Another thing is that if you assign cargo to the cars, or paths at the stations, it does not save from Route to session (existing session, that is). These changes should be made in the session.
