Yield & Forest Railway - My 1st Route

Well, it's kind of my 1st route, it's the 1st I have actually stuck with for longer than 2 weeks..lol

A Ficticious Layout set around a lakes system surrounded my Farmland. So far I have about 50km's of Dual Mainline, of which 40km's has been completely landscaped. Ultimately I want the Route to stretch just over 100km's and in to a mid to large sized town.

Here's some shots from what I have done so far.

The entire route opperates with Full AI, I am yet to drive it, Building and watching is my thing, not so much driving. I have let it run for about 12 hours without any complications. Any comments welcomed.

Well - what can I say? This route looks absolutely smashing! Fantastic! Beautiful! Superb work, absolutely superb. Well done indeed! Keep up the good work :)

Few more pics from some progress

This is the latest town, Newton. it's probably the last "small" country town on my layout, from here on in they will get bigger and bigger towards the City. Got some big hills to pass through 1st.

This is the bridge on the Exit of Newton. I only started this town tonight and it still has quite a bit of work to be done. But it has it's own character.

A short 7 or 8 k's down the line we start to enter Gleefly.

Gleeflyyard.jpg

Gleefly is a little bit larger than Newton and once housed a lot of industry. Nowadays it is no more than housing for the coal miners and a little farming community.

GleeflyStation.jpg

Gleefly also plays host to quite a few of those pesky businessmen types too, since the introduction of the Electrified passanger service some 5 years ago, A lot of cityfolk have opted for the country lifestyle and delt with the commute to the city. This is where the Passanger service Ends...or Starts, depending on how you look at it.

Just out of Gleefly we cross over a branchline that heads off to a town that is yet to be named. For the moment, it is Portal City..

As the areas are getting more and more populated it is taking a lot more time to make progress, I am now up to about 70km's of landscaped goodness. I have laid track for about 110km's now. It's turning in to an epic. So much more than I ever predicted already.. lol.

A question someone might be able to help me with. I am using a grass texture that seems to have a Grass object attatched to it, I don't like it as it seems to just pop up in to view when really close to it. I see there is a replace asset feature in surveyor, I clicked on it and for the life of me had no idea how to use it. Can anyone tell me how to replace a texture over the whole layout? would be a fair crappy job to go back over everything and replace by hand.

Thanks

Well I'll definitely think about it, but I'm starting to think it'll become a route that never ends. I can see another 40 to 50k of mainline before I'm anywhere near where I want it anyway. By then I am sure I'll have another 40k of track planned lol
