Wisconsin Northwoods Railroad

Welcome to the Wisconsin Northwoods, a project for Trainz: A New Era. The Wisconsin Northwoods is a shortline that runs former Canadian National track between Wausau, Wisconsin, and Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The railroad also laid new tracks between Rhinelander and Eagle River, Wisconsin, and completely overhauled the branchline between Rhinelander and Crandon, Wisconsin. The railroad is also trying to partner with the Camp 5 Museum and Lumerjack Steam Train to get trackage rights into Laona, Wisconsin. The line's main commodity is Lumber for the paper mills in Wausau, but also handles paper, LPG, corn, perishables, sand, corn, and some scrap. The line interchange with the CN in Wausau, and hopefully eventually the Escanaba & Lake Superior in Beecher.

This will be a multi stage project, with the first stage being the section between Wausau and Rhinelander, then moving to Eagle River, then completing the branch between Rhinelander and Crandon, then the segment between Crandon and Laona, and finally between Laona and Beecher.

First step will be basemapz. Enjoy the project as it unfolds!

First progress update has to do with motive power!

The WNRR originally started with 8 GP38-2's #2008-#2015 from the Southern Pacific, but have all since been repainted to WNRR colors.

They also made a package deal with the Florida East Coast to obtain SD40-2's #703, #713, and #714, aswell as SD70M-2's #100, #101, and #102.
The FEC locomotives have yet to be repainted, and still bear their FEC paint schemes

More updates to come!

I also finished the TransDEM, exporting will happen soon.

Also, I decided to run some WNRR trains on Brazemore Yard, a route built-in to TMR17

Train L-ARGWAU passes the banks of Lake Nokomis in Heafford Junction, on his way to interchange with the CN in Wausau

We also caught him slowing around the final curve before heading into Tomahawk

No recent updates as I am having issues with TransDEM. This will be my first project with it and it is very confusing...

But in the mean time, I did manage to come up with a possible paint scheme for the WNRR

Any help with TransDEM would be greatly appreciated.

Heres one to throw on here:

The 500 and 1344 are getting ready to depart the yard here at Crivitz to make its daily run to Green Bay

Nice shot!

There has been a lack of updates due to my computer crapping out on me and I have to replace it. The replacement should be here soon. Luckily, I had just started the route, so not much was lost. Updates will continue shortly, so stay tuned!
