Winter at Avery, Id

Hallo,

here comes a snowy screen from Avery, Id - the western end of Milwaukee Road's Montana Division :)

Special thanks to Dinorius Redundicus who updated his nice
old baggage car to support season change functionality so I
could use it for the seasonal update of the Avery-Drexel route.

Yes, you are not completely alone with the seasonal assets. Hopefully other creators will catch this disease also.

With any new creations I make now, I consider whether normal-map textures and a snow/summer change is justified. For old assets, I will be gradually working through the list and asking the same question. Unfortunately for me, it is now a reasonably long list and adding snow is not always a simple matter of splashing around some white. Usually it requires a re-work of the UVW mapping, fixing mistakes in the meshes and even re-making the original summer texture images so that everything works. The update of Derelict baggage car 01 for example took me 2 weeks to do. And of course it's somewhat boring to be working on old assets, so I like to always have something new in the pipeline to keep up my interest. The net result is that seasonal updates are in progress but will probably take me a long time.

at first - your screen looks great!!

The seasonal disused baggage car has been created by Dinorius_ Redundicus. Just search DLS for user-kuid 68213.
All the other seasonal stuff at the screen has been created by me, but it has not been released yet. It will be released as a bundle within my reworked Milwaukee Road Avery-Drexel route.

Route: UMR 2010 Winter

The VIA Turbo is filled with holiday travellers, a jolly Christmas party on rails. Santa Claus is aboard, greeting the kids, and the lounge car is selling plenty of mugs of mulled wine and hot toddies for the adults.
