I doubt that it applies to the EU. My son tells me that the EU version will not include IE and Media Player because of the ongoing spat between Microsoft and the EU and will probably be even more expensive than it usually is over here.Hello whitepass,
Is that open to anybody or just United States of America only?
The price doesn't look too bad for here (£49.99 against $50 - the same old conversion £1=$1 regardless of exchange rate). My son is half right at least; IE8 is missing although this isn't a problem.
...as I understand it you have to preorder through one of the named stores? In the UK you can't do it online, is this correct?....
Hi John. I am running Win7 X64 with this card. Used the creative 64 bit drivers, which intalled ok from memory. You don't get the nice looking control panel (not sure if the 32 bit version has the nice control panel) with these drivers but all the options are available. I have had no problems once I got it all sorted, which wasn't difficult mainly just getting my head around the different look.I have looked at this and as I understand it you have to preorder through one of the named stores? In the UK you can't do it online, is this correct?
Another question , the W7 compatibility software says that the Creative Xfi Extreme Gamer sound card is not compatible, but the Creative site shows W7 drivers. Has anyone with this card tried W7? John.
This raises a question: ....... will you be allowed to use the pre-ordered upgrade? Or will you be told you have to have Windows XP running to use it? .......
Yes it is a full licence because the crippled E version has to have a clean instal. See here for more on this and Microsoft v EU.The difference is that the US ?canada offer is an upgrade, the EU offer is a full license.
Cheerio John
I have had a look at PCWorld and Currys and there doesn't seem to be any mention of this offer yet! Maybe by July 15th. John.

What I meant was you can't preorder on the MS site?. John.
In this last case I would guess that you will need to uninstall Windows-7 and thus end-up with the clean install that Microsoft requires anyhow for XP users.
