I am thinking of upgrading to windows 7 64 bit version and wondered if trainz is compatable with it.
Certainly TS2010 is compatable, in fact 64 bit is a recommended requirement.I am thinking of upgrading to windows 7 64 bit version and wondered if trainz is compatable with it.
Mr_D,
Trainz TS2009 will work fine with Windows 7 64-bit. I'm not sure about the others though.
Remember to install and run it as an Administrator. This will ensure that the Content Manager as well as the program its self has full access to the hard drive and other resources necessary to run properly.

Thanks for the response guys. I'll give it one last chance and reinstall with internet disconnected, firewall disabled... etc etc.
It will be great if this works.. I've spent some frustrating hours with it so far.
Lots of frustration with Windows 7 as well. I ran the free beta for at least six months and had no problems whatsoever. When I installed the real software I had enormous driver and system problems. Couldn't get my printers to work as well. I just spent a week reinstalling and rebuilding one of my two machines. I'm about ready to hook up an Artisan 50 printer and see if it will work now. It had been locking up the computer for over an hour to print anything. The other box has an old Epson R300 that won't print CD's any more despite reinstalling the latest drivers from Epson over and over again.
It's just been a frustrating six months, let me tell you!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody (belatedly) and Merry Christmas (in advance).

I'm running a Far Dareis Mai "Blackhorse - Mark II" PC (one of my own builds - I haven't bought a store brand PC since my early Macintosh days).
CPU is an AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition (quad core)
Video Card is an ATI Radeon HD 4850 with 512 meg ram
4 gig of Corsair PC2 6400 DDR2 RAM
4.5 terrabytes of Hard Drive storage
I just rebuilt the box so all drivers are current.
Haven't had a chance to reinstall 2010 yet - back to work tomorrow and had to get lesson planning and grading done (I'm an 8th grade Social Studies teacher at Pinon Accelerated Middle School in the middle of the Navajo Nation (the wildest, least developed part of the rez - lots of the kids have no electricity or even water in their homes).

The AMD Phenom had/have a bad bug that was fixed in the Phenom II this may be your problem.
