Willie the gimp still replaced by the zombie drivers?...

As the title says,I tried to see if Willie the gimp would work in TRS2019 without being a satanic alien zombie "Train Driver"... but it still was a satanic, devilish, alien zombie like driver instead, that didn't fit the cab of Union Pacific 0-6-0 #4609. I am disappointed with this,as UP 4609 looks quite good in TRS2019. You can see the issue with the driver not having the right mesh in this screenshot...

It's just a pity that the actual Willie the gimp can't be used now since the locomotive looks so good in the new version... and Union Pacific made sure that there was no rust or holes in the cab so a driver couldn't fall through the floor of the cab!:hehe:

Is IM.EDITOR safe? It flags up some warnings in Windows Defender in Win 10 and it also requires some activation whereby it needs permission to install and is given permission to read your system parameters! Seems a bit dodgy for my liking!

Hello robd,

As I found it on the latest N3V newsletter and I understand it's been used by the N3V team for content correction. I presume it to be OK.
Still it's always wise to apply caution, but so far I have had no problems.

Cheers, Ken

Rob --

Yes, I got to that activation screen where I had to give authority for it to read and transmit information, and decided to back out. To whom does it send that information? And why?

I've uninstalled it completely.

I've not installed this, stopped at the authorization requests and thought Whoa! I'm not going any further with this!

Since you've installed it and run it please may I enquire as to the nature of the app; is it a hexeditor?

Thanks and Merry Christmas,

Rob.

Here you go Rob screenshot should explain it.
Bear in mind this application came via the N3V website, would they tolerate a duff/dodgy item?

Ken --

It might come "via" the N3V site but it's obviously a Russian application, which makes me reluctant to authorise access to my PC.

Nothing showing as phoning home in Current Ports or SysInternals TCP View when running it, been using it for some months and not been hacked or anything else.

Scanned with Defender - clean
Scanned with Malwarebytes - clean
Scanned with SuperAntispyware - clean

Contrary to popular belief not all Russians are hackers. ;)

Thanks for the positive info Malc.
I have found this tool when used over the last couple of days with PEV applications to be mighty useful.
Cheers, Ken

I've used this program to fix countless assets and never have had a problem; it's a life saver for assets that have the green missing texture error. I'm sure if someone asked over on their forums why the activation is there we could get clarification.
