Why won't my loco move?

I’m having a strange problem. I’ve included several steam locomotives (K-27, C-21,C-41,C-16) in a test scenario. All but the C-16 work fine. All the animation effects on the C-16 work, but it won’t respond to the throttle in DCC mode (or any other mode for that matter). When viewed in CM, I can see no inherent differences among the four locomotives, yet the c-16 refuses to move. Can anyone suggest what might be wrong?

Hi: The only thing I can suggest is go into the con-fig file and change the Engine spec..Also you might want to check and see if your missing any Dependencies..

Out of steam? :D Just a shot in the dark... I'm only suggesting that, because I have a Diesel loco that wouldn't move, only because it didn't have Diesel loaded... took me a while to figure that out..

If it's Prowler901's C-16, I changed the motor section of enginespec 43955:51006 to look like this:

motor
{
resistance 1.5
adhesion 4.7
maxvoltage 600
maxspeed 13.855
brakeratio 50000
max-accel 2500
max-decel 2500

Then save and commit.

Thanks guys and another related question

Thanks for the response guys and especially Bob. The change to the motor data did the trick.

Now I need to figure out why I get no chuffing sounds when in motion. The steam whistle is fine, and there are some boiler (I think) related sounds. Any ideas?

No Joy

Bob, thanks for the links. I checked them out and also tried the sounds you suggested. Unfortunately, I still hear nothing. I also tried substituting sounds from prowler901’s c-21 and c-42 with the same result. BTW, both of these engines work fine, with sound, in my setup. Should I be changing something in addition to the sound spec kuid in the config file for the c-16?

An additional mystery, the c-16 backs up fine using manual dcc mode, but only backs at 1 mph if I use a script (using TPR’s SCR setup) to control it. Any ideas?
