While I still don't agree with "first class tickets", in this, you buy a TV/Fridge/even a model train (as examples) for the RRP, then say later, they may have a sale.
And if you buy fuel for example, if you buy petrol in the morning, it may be say $1.50 a litre, but by the evening (on the same day), it may drop to $1.33 a litre.

I suppose that the case of the prices of the different FCTs is similar to that of other products, e. g. groceries. By this, I mean that you can often buy the bigger size version of an item for less than if you bought two of the smaller size, even though you get exactly the same amount of the product when you buy the bigger version as you would get with two of the smaller size. 
The same is obviously true with Auran First Class Tickets also.

Indeed but with appliances and such all the way down to the tiny things, if you buy it then it goes on sale, say a week later, you can go back and get you money back legally. Of course you can't go back a month or a year later and expect to get some money back.
This goes for the big retail stores, Best Buy, Staples, Kohls, Wal Mart etc etc.
Wha??? I think I paid something like $25-30 for my 1-year FCT this summer and it wasn't on sale.
Kicker is I got a voucher for a lifetime FCT a week later (which I still have, for some reason.) I probably would have bought that had I not just gotten the 1-year ticket.

I recently renewed my FCT and I think it was around $25 Aussie for 1 year. Now that it's dropped down to $20 bucks for 1 year, that works out at less than 6 cents a day...
Hopefully some of those that are struggling financially can now afford a FCT...

Why not buy the 1 year at the reduced price?
Better hurry, the sale is only for 7 days. But no start/stop date is listed in the add.
When the 3 month expires, activate the 1 year then.

Yup! I know exactly what you mean. I just purchased two hard drives today also. I had some SMART drive errors on my boot drive, and I didn't want to take any chances.
Cha-ching. That's two more holes in my wallet today!

I bought a 6 month FCT on the first of the month.
That didn't stop me from buying a one year ticket at the sale price.
Nothing says you have to activate it today.

The essentialls oh yeah like my Trainz data, sure. Not my email, documents, music (my own performances), and pictures and videos from my storm chasing trips. We know what the "essential data" is. LOL

at least you guys HAVE a FCT... i bought a 90 day fct and 2 months later, it hasn't been activated (at aurans end) and i am getting no response from them... its as if they no longer exist.
i paid for a fct. i have not been allowed to use it..
the auran website gives my fct status as 'pending permissions update - please try again later'

LMAO it was the same here. I had 90% of the trainz data backed up...But those cruddy emails, pictures that you can never retake again...PFFTT who needs them!
I do think Red rattler got it right. Every business does this and a regular practice. somehow some of us think that as a hobby an d have a deep interest and enjoyment the business side should somehow be in a separate dimension. And in addition over a period of time the price of a Trainz version does come down too and so what is wrong with that either? There have been no doubt people who have waited then after a while purchased a Trainz offering at lower than the rest of us.

DL'ing with TS10 wasn't working well at all - it would only start after many tries and then just dribble in at about 1/10 the rate that it was saying I was receiving it at. And to add insult to that painful process nearly all would never end but just slow to 0.0 kbs and then cmp would delete them without installing. A few I managed to salvage by grabbing them to another folder before they were deleted and I installed them manually from there. I guess they felt bad about it because my 100mb daily limit never got decreased even for the few I managed to install.
Now with an FCT I downloaded about 20 items in a few minutes - no wait, no lost dl's and they all installed. No change from what I was doing a day or or so ago except the FCT but what a world of difference.
The free side of the dls just isn't an option for me anymore. They've messed it up so much it just isn't usable. From my experiences if you're going to stick with Trainz, going foward an FCT is just a cost of staying in the game. Sad that it's come to this - the free DLS was great while it lasted.

FCT and all other things with 2010 stinks
In Norway we got a official office that orders producers, manufacturers and sellers to inform that if there is any extra costs by using a product they have to tell you about it. I bought my 2010EE game in a shop, nobody told me that i had to spend twice of my price to use this product, i can't use multiplayer (can't download my assets), i can't build my own place (asset's still cant download), really, i'm not a resent player of any kind, but this game was wasted money, and if no one can tell me why this game, with a good reason, can tell me why it is so.... i really hope somebody can tell me why?????? this is the worst sales promotions i've ever seen, tell me why...... please, at the end, why is there any restriction of use, i've bought this product....
