Whoop i made a milestone

And what would that accomplish?
It will show that the restrictive and oppressive ways of these forums are a failure! You can ban the same member for idiot reasons a thousand times, but as long as the same member wants to return, it will.
Another consequence is that other members get more and more tired of the bickering and will join the disruptive behaviour until one day they also fall to the axe.
The moderators act and behave from the infantile notion that the delete and ban buttons will solve a problem, while it only makes it worse.
As long as staff doesn't "open-up" and actually start to "think" a bit about what they are doing, the problems will come back time and again.

Oi take a hike mike... [Western] Ain't nun of my threads gonna turn off topic [/western]

If a magic button could be pushed that would reveal the truth, I think some would be surprised at the large number of people with multiple user names....

Perhaps, but with over 3200 "Active" members I can only remember about 5 that seemed to feel it neccessary to resort to such skullduggery. The resulting percentage is far below the estimated 29% of US citizens that are believed to suffer mental illness or addictive behavior in a given year(Regier et al., 1993b; Kessler et al., 1994). I find that encouraging.

Of course, this forum deals with members from many other countries, which may have mental illness percentages well below or above those of the United States. For instance; I have no idea the rate of occurance of mental illness in the general population of say.....The Netherlands? It would appear to be an interesting study, however.

What you fail to realize is that is a faulty process in the mind of the member returning, not the forum. A personality that cannot suffer the consequences of "idiot reasons" (your words...not mine) has not progressed to adult formation, when one is likely to accept responsibilities for one's actions.

This assumption is also unfounded. Adult personalities tend to find entertainment in the misfortunes of others, even when it occurs to a peer. The likely consequense is that other forum members will observe the disruptive behavior, be entertained by it, but not comment on it, as to keep themselves "above the fray". Some members with either strong negative or positive personalities will become embroiled, but both will feel righteous affirmation when doing so.

Well, I agree with you about the "problems" coming back time and time again, but the percentage is low, nay, VERY low, and well within acceptable losses. A moderator, (much like a police officer) does not have the time or desire to approach each situation with bottomless sensitivity. There is a reason modern societies have "rules", as each individual is expected to adhere to said rules and allow the collective to act as a peaceful entity. Only a very small percentage are not able to bend thier will to the authority of others with the realization it is for the greater good. Some of those have mental health issues...others are just criminals, and there may be a connection between the two groups.

I find it rather telling Ed that a man with your intelligence can be so utterly blind and or indoctrinated by what seems to be the norm. Haven't you learned to ask questions?

I have a few questions for you so you can re-write the above post. I do not feel the need to discuss with you when your assumptions are presented as facts of life. Which they aren't. You should state more often that you express an opinion instead of a fact.

Do you always abide by all rules and laws?

Are you an adult? Why do you break rules?

Do you always "just" accept the consequence of enforcement?

Is a person with any mental handicap a criminal in your mind? Which are?

These are just to point out how many assumptions there are in your comment to my post Ed. Your assumptions are not better then others.

Gee, as a new member you sure get personal fast...

....but that's okay with me.

You should recognize that you are setting up straw man arguments which is often an indication that your argument is not grounded in facts. Opinions I won't argue because it's pointless, and how I respond to authority is neither the issue, nor is it any of your business.

Bottom line is you seem to believe the structure and administration of this forum is responsible for YOUR actions interacting with this forum. That's patently ridiculous and factually unsupportable.

Now I shall excuse myself from this discourse, as it's obviously futile to continue. Good luck with your revolution.

I thought this thread was about reaching a waffle milestone not bashing each other with arguments. This forum is supposed to be a place where we all get along.

Now can we at least get back onto the original topic?

Congrats 0099 on all those waffles :D :D

You can ban the same member for idiot reasons a thousand times,
You know this phrase very nearly gets the word order right.

Mind you, assuming a version of Trainz is needed for each name, banning members is good business. :)

Congratulation on 1000 posts in one name 0099, rather than a thousand names with one post (I exaggerate for effect).

Wow, never pay attention to it but I am just over 1000 posts.
All the kids/teenagers are beating me.:( :hehe:
For some of them, it must be all those silly feud topics.
This is what happens when you start typing a post and decide, "Nah, that's too evil," on a repeated basis.
