Who else is working on NG routes?

So working on my map I thought, who else is working on 3ft gauge maps and what other maps are out there. I know for sure of the infamus Timber Ridge and the Muchison series. I am working on one and I want to know/see what other routes/maps/levels/ect are out there. Post pics or talk about them. I/the community would like to know.

if i create narrow gauge routes, its ussually in 30in, but i do know that 3ft was the most common here in the u.s. the last n.g. route i built was in 3ft and involved mining, logging and passenger hauling, which was what most narrow gauge lines were built for. plus there was the added steep mountains and narrow cliffs which led to Narrow Gauge being the best option of course. my route > available here http://northwesttrainssimulators.yolasite.com/ (called Miners Mreek RR) has logging, mining and lots of trees. it also has an interesecting SG line in it as well. i dont have any pictures, but will try to post some tomorow if i remember.

I am working on the Wopsy RR (Wopsononock) Aka: Altoona Northern, Altoona Ebensbug & Eastern, Altoona & Beech Creek ... etc ... the most often bankrupted and traded RR in Pa ... it was construted in 1897, 3' NG, later SG, and shut down in 1920. Today all that remains is a horse/ATV trail railbed, and some hundered year old RR ties and bent up rusted spikes. The roadbed was large rocks, shale, and earth ... here was no RR ballast, and all the ties were cut from surrounding trees.

I've got one, halfway based on a layout seen in Model Railroader in the 1980's. I modified it to be a cast-off portion of the D&RGW that was bought by a hydroelectric company to haul turbines, generators, pipes, and other miscellanious power components to their three dams. The line was bought in 1904, after the mine on the north end of the line played out. over the years, the company purchased used D&RGW steam engines to keep the trains running, and even ran limited passenger, logging, and common carrier service to the small communities along the line. But as time wore on, and paved roads were cut into the mountains to the dams, the line was cut back, eventually only servicing two towns, Kennebeckport (based on the town of the same name on Dave Frary's old HO2.5 layout), a large harbor community on the huge lake built by Big Rocky Dam #2 (the second of the three dams) and the small hamlet of Lost Lake, stopping at Dam #3 along the way. Track is in place up to Lost Lake, the old Mining District (to be based off of the Cripple Creek Area). By 1970, the electric company was ready to be rid of the railway, and sold it and its weary engines to The Town of Kennebeckport, who opened it back up as a year-round tourist railway. They kept plenty of large flatcars around, though, to haul components to the dam when needed. I call it the "Clearfield and Lost Lake."

currently, plans are to push the railway up the mountains (using some hijacked scenes from the real D&RGW and RGS) and up to Lost Lake, the mining district and site of the old lumber camp. Kennebeckport and Clearfield may swap places for route continuity as the C&LL. this post has been modified since i did the original off of memory, and have since opened up the route and done some work on it.

sorry for being a bit verbose, but that's basically it. haven't touched it in months though, been busy building a prototypical route (along with a couple other railways). started it in TS2009, imported to TS2010, been busy with the route of the british movie The Titfield Thunderbolt.

Well, I have to say that it is intresting on seeing what you all are getting y'all selves into.
@Sawyer811: I like the story. It gives a meaning to the work of art.

So everybody I thought I might share a pic/teaser of my route. It is a historical fiction of the D&RGW (Narrow Gauge loop including a RGS line and some Standard Gauge). The view is in San Louis(aka Chama) looking towards the moutains and the main line. Did I say that this is my first route that I am actually sharing/making?

Now I have another question to you all. Who is working on the D&S or the C&T? I have seen various pictures here and there on the forums yet they are at varius times. Any ideas?

Hello all,

i am working on a narrow gauge route which i call "The Narrow" Its a narrow gauge route based loosly on colorado narrow gauge so its fictional. not finished yet and i am deciding (when its done of course) to release it because of the fact that The DOWNLOAD STATION IS NO LONGER FREE so i don't know if i do put it on the dls it would be the first peice of content ive ever submitted. at this point no pictures still trying to figure that out (Posting the Pictures of course) oh and its for trs2006 if i release it. a lot of content from tpr and other sites so nothing from the dls. i have not posted in over a year i think and boy did everything change when i took my leave of absense from trainz (thanks to call of duty black ops) but i'm back so if i get it done even or even release it is a question of time and if i want to release it:wave:

I have more than a passing interest in the former Yugoslavian narrow gauge and did have a mind to try and do something based on one of the routes at some stage. However no promises and no timescales!

FYI there are some fascinating German NG routes which have been done for Trainz - see this post in the German section:-

My current favourite is the Rugener but the Mollibahn and Brockenbahn are equally as good.
