I've got one, halfway based on a layout seen in Model Railroader in the 1980's. I modified it to be a cast-off portion of the D&RGW that was bought by a hydroelectric company to haul turbines, generators, pipes, and other miscellanious power components to their three dams. The line was bought in 1904, after the mine on the north end of the line played out. over the years, the company purchased used D&RGW steam engines to keep the trains running, and even ran limited passenger, logging, and common carrier service to the small communities along the line. But as time wore on, and paved roads were cut into the mountains to the dams, the line was cut back, eventually only servicing two towns, Kennebeckport (based on the town of the same name on Dave Frary's old HO2.5 layout), a large harbor community on the huge lake built by Big Rocky Dam #2 (the second of the three dams) and the small hamlet of Lost Lake, stopping at Dam #3 along the way. Track is in place up to Lost Lake, the old Mining District (to be based off of the Cripple Creek Area). By 1970, the electric company was ready to be rid of the railway, and sold it and its weary engines to The Town of Kennebeckport, who opened it back up as a year-round tourist railway. They kept plenty of large flatcars around, though, to haul components to the dam when needed. I call it the "Clearfield and Lost Lake."
currently, plans are to push the railway up the mountains (using some hijacked scenes from the real D&RGW and RGS) and up to Lost Lake, the mining district and site of the old lumber camp. Kennebeckport and Clearfield may swap places for route continuity as the C&LL. this post has been modified since i did the original off of memory, and have since opened up the route and done some work on it.
sorry for being a bit verbose, but that's basically it. haven't touched it in months though, been busy building a prototypical route (along with a couple other railways). started it in TS2009, imported to TS2010, been busy with the route of the british movie The Titfield Thunderbolt.
