I'm looking for these dependencies for the McKeen car.

BTW, Whitepass the GWR in Colorado used these cars for passenger service
and U.S. mail carriers from 1917 to around 1927. After 1927, they were sold to Union Pacific. Thanks for making it!

a number of other railroads had them too. the virginia and truckee had one and the s.p. had at least one also. i'd like to get mine going too.

so i'm curious what site i can get those kuid's from.

i know whitepass's WP&Y g.e. shovel noses, i got dependencies from some sight i think other then dls which i now have the 94 running but not the 92.
but i don't remember where it was, and i'm guessing wherever it was that's where the missing mckeen parts are too.

That's true, I don't know how many total around the U.S. were actually made and put into service.

Colorado's GWR purchased them slightly used from the Denver, Laramie and Northwestern when that company went under.

The McKeen's were extremely popular for passangers and ahead of their time, but expensive to operate. They were getting about 2 miles to a gallon of distillate, and difficult to start on cold mornings. The cost to operate these was an average of 27 cents a mile ; for what 27 cents was worth back in the 1920's.

Go to the download station link at the top of this page. Copy / paste the first kuid (58422:50108) in the text search box; check the button underneath next to 'kuid'. Under 'Trainz Versions', check all the buttons except 'preSP3 Trainz'
Then click on the yellow search button. Repeat for the other two kuids.
Unfortunately, CMP doesn't always see everything on the DLS - sometimes you have to do a manual search like this.
Also, when doing a manual kuid search on the DLS, leave off the version number at the end (if there is one) - that way, the search will return all versions, and you can get the latest one.
Another problem with the McKeens was that the motor had to be turned off, then run backwards to put the car in reverse.

Thanks Pencil42, that did the trick. I had every box checked BUT the Trainz
box. I won't make THAT mistake again (but I'll find others)

Interesting too, that if the compressed air system didn't get it started, that a chamber was made in one of the cylinders to fit a shot gun shell into (minus the shot). Once the engine was cranked over to the correct position, hopefully, the blast of the shell would kick the engine over (half a revolution at best).

I love hearing the stories of what operators had to go through back then to start their days during the winter months.

I hope you're doing ok, Whitepass. In and out for the last couple weeks doesn't sound good.

Best of health and happiness to you! :)
