Which to buy

Hello all,

I am considering my purchase of the new TRS22 or possibly Trainz Plus. What is the difference for each as they are approximately the same price? I have read the purchase options page (which is a little dated since we are most of the way through February now). I already have a lifetime DLS Ticket. I am living off my retirement social security and can't afford anything more expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

Trainz Plus is a montly subscription to TRS22 which gives you access to the latest beta software releases. If you quit the subscription your game is gone. If you are not interested in beta testing and the bugs that come in beta software then another option is likely best for you, like an outright purchase of TRS22. There is also Silver Subscription (all content) and Gold subscription. Gold gets you access to all routes and content. But again, it's a monthly subscription. Gold is essentially Plus and Silver together (all software releases including beta and all content.)

Yes, you can buy outright to have public release of app. Monthly/Yearly Subscription offers are "Silver" if you are interested in access to all DLC routes, Loco's, etc. (content). "Plus" if you are interested in Beta testing and/or more frequent Trainz app updates with latest features. "Gold" subscription gives you both.

Hey, thank you. I'll look into that. I beta tested Trainz back in the beginning days.

See bottom of old page linked below. It's an old chart (goes back to SP1) but it shows benefits of each plan. Be sure to check each row carefully as a single row can be a big deal such "Regular Game Features Updates" (the latest and greatest new features and beta) and also "Content Vault All DLC Content".
