Where's.......

I'm still here and pop in from time to time. I got burnt out trying to push the scripting as far as I could when it first came out. At the time it felt like I wasn't getting any support from Auran and one morning I woke up and thought "this is becoming too much like a job and not enough like fun". I crank TRS2006 up every now and again but it seems like SP1 completely stuffed the scenarios (missing clock?), so there's no fun in it. I did buy TS12, but the lack of Aussie content made me fire up Torchlight 2 instead :) Hope you're all well.

I just found this and realised I have been a member of this forum for nearly 10.5 years!

I have reloaded 3d studio max and am looking for the latest content creation rules - any pointers please?

And where's my good buddies Barney and ChileanLlama?.... wow... what a trip down memory lane.... John Banks, Greg Lane, Tony Hilliam.... the good old days for sure. :) Was SpaceCowboy mentioned? Jeepers... might have to dig out the first version and look at the credits. guess my memory isn't what it used to be ;)

Good news is, nothing much has changed in 10 years, I'm still creating... sort of! The only real difference now is the plug ins which go beyond the 32,000 poly limit (yay, came in handy on my Class 502!) and materials now have to have specific names, like (the_name_of_material).m.onetex for example. The wiki will tell you more about this. As for trains, PM's (ahh, I remember those! My 4SUB is still there in PM form, from about 10 years ago.) are no longer used, theres im's, and if you fancy going a bit extreme, try scripting.

Still think it is pretty amazing that not only has Trainz been around so long but that so many people from the early days are still here too. I just passed 10 years with Trainz and sometimes feel like a neophyte compared to a some of them. Admittedly my recent online activity has been rather minimalist but the interest is still there. Wonder where we all will be when the next nostalgia thread is started or this one is revived again? :D

Don't be afraid to ask me or anyone here, especially in the Content Creation thread. From what I can infer (even though I haven't been here a decade - I'm basing most of it on my work on the DLS Cleanip) is that the adaptation isn't as hard as some might think.

Wow CeeBee :)

So nice to see you back. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Cheers

Hi A.J. :0 We are doing good. Proud grandparents (finally) ;) with 2 having arrived in the last year. Good to see you still here and involved with Trainz :) If (when) I get a new PC I might just have to re-install Trainz and see if it will run in windows 8. :)
Cheers all :)

God, I must of sailed past 12 years without even realising it.

I'd like to know what happened to Dave (deeelare)?
Haven't seen him on here in a long, long time. He was one of our regulars.

Cheers,
Woody
