Where to Download the game.

Probably not, if you had a CD, and can not find it. You could try the helpdesk, supplying them with all your purchasing/key code information

Buy a hard copy from the local gamer software store.
At least if the computer hard drive has seen better days and worn out, you can replace it and reload all software from disks.
Downloads are expensive in some countries like Australia, and downloading a patch file say of 8 gigabytes is so expensive.
Software patches can be backed up to disk for this reason.

Be forwarned: A previously registered disc can not be re-registered under your E-Mail, UN & PW, and is virtually worthless if previously registered by someone else

Wrong. The discs are read-only and only store the software for installation. If installed on an offline computer it doesn't matter whose serial number is entered the program can still be used. There is no such thing as a "registered disc", only a registered installation.

Therefore, OP can choose to download Trainz from any source or buy a cheap secondhand Trainz and register it under his own serial number.

When you go online, only then is N3V able to check your serial number, allow/deny you access to online features and/or disable your Trainz.

Ok, found it.
You can, for free download those versions of Trainz, you bought online previosly.
Log on here and go to MyTrainz, and find "Legacy Order History" In here you can see all things. And redownload the games..

What good is a pre-registered disc key code, if your installation can't go online to the DLS ?

You need to enter the key code online, to install the disc

The first thing the installation asks is: "Enter your key code and enter your UN, PW, and make a Profile" ... "Sorry that key code has already been used"

You need to get on the DLS ... and that is online ... so you can't download anything from the DLS
