Where did my locomotives go?!

When on a route like Piccadilly 2010, I sometimes cannot see my locomotives.
I also strangely derailed... Is this faulty track or something else?

What was the problem? How did you fix it.

I had some track that went missing some time ago. It has come back but until I know the source I am worried. Also I have train derailments for no reason even on straight track where no spline points join. I don't know that my issues are the same as yours but I figured I would ask just in case.

What I did was move my Sprinters past the offending track, and then It sorted it. Pity that the piccadily line didn't go to stockport and beyond, I know my local station is somewhere...

Not the same issue though.

I figured out why my track is disappearing in the meantime, they are being saved to the session layer somehow. I merged the layers and changed it so that they are being saved in the route layer.

I still don't know why my locos derail in the middle of nowhere.

Check for a split track

If your derailment keeps happening in the same place, check all the track spline points to ensure they're actually connected. I ran into this before. A track spline point in a straightaway when split sometimes won't give any visual indicator that it is split, but a train will not pass it successfully.
