I was born in a trunk in the Princess Theater...no wait, that's the wrong song. Can anyone finish that line?

I'm Columbian. I was born in Columbia, Boone County, Missouri. My brother was born while the parents were still in Kansas, before they moved to Columbia, so he's Pre-Columbian.
After that is was everywhere from Cocoa Beach, Florida (I learned to count all the way from 10 to "lift-off") to Spokane, Washington. The flotsam of my life washed up on the shores of San Diego a little over 4 lustrum ago.

I am from a whole bunch of places: born in Bandung, Indonesia; lived in Delft, Holland; lived in Stratford, Canada; presently residing in Ottawa, Canada. Indonesia and Holland were great for trains. Canada, however, sucks when it comes to trains. Really miss them!

That's cool to see NYCboy is from Egypt and to R142A lover, sorry to hear about the tornado. I'd like to hear about though, (I like tornado stories). I'm from Brooklyn. Rasied in Canarsie next to the L Train at 105th Street. I now live in Marlboro NJ where trains are a taboo for some reason.
 
I'm from a small country called Hungary. Homeland of Edward Teller, Leo Szilard, John Neumann, Denes Gabor, Bela Bartok just to mention some guy who emmigrated to the States when the communism won here.

I love the adventures and remained here in Budapest, where i was born some lots of many years ago :hehe:. My aunt lives in California, San Diego. My cousine lives in Honolulu, Hawaii. Another one lives in Toronto, Canada. I live in Budapest. It is funny place i would not change for any money... Hey, what did You say? How much? Wait me, i'm coming :hehe:

Oh yeah. I see them quite frequently. I've always wanted to fly an airship.

I could draw you a picture of a copy of my version of my map of Bedford from my head. I call it my PPS and not my GPS.

Yup! Thats the hangers. I took photos when we were coming back from... I dunno where, but there is an old mill there.

Aaaah, the sound of a Cessna overhead, music to my ears! It's right up there with the rythmic hissing of a Steam Loco going by.

I was born and lived many years in Denmark. And no, it's not the capital of Sweden, it's a small country just north of Germany, and the home of Hans Christian Andersen, Piet Hein, and Victor Borge, if anyone cares. It's a very pretty country, where travel used to be all about trains and ferries. That was the good ol' days.

I live in a historic town called Penryn, next to Falmouth in the west of Cornwall....It has a station on the Maritime Branch (Truro to Falmouth) served by First Great Western... Falmouth was the first town in the UK to learn about Nelson's victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.... I am currently working on a layout of our branch line, Truro to Falmouth, using a dem map, the layout is set in the mid 60's....
 
Born in Birmingham (West Midlands) but lived in Newcastle-upon-Tyne for the last 30 years, not all that far from where railways had their birth (Stockton and Darlington).

Nice to see some old friends on this thread, Angela - how you doin'? have not spoken to you for ages, and IKB - still listening to good music I hope?

Birth place of the L.C.D. and VCR. The only City to have it's own Telephone Exchange (K.C. Communications) 5 english pence per call, as to BT's per minute.
 
i'm from southwick, sussex, england on the sunny south coast (or at least it's suppost to be!) it's not a big place but the local train station is on the main line form brighton to portsmouth so we get a train every 20 mins! it's so exciting you never know if it is going to be electric or diesel!:D
by the way i have heard that the trains in the south of england (where i live) are the only main line trains (not including subways elevated railways etc.) in the world to use a third rail, is this true?

Born in Brooklyn and grew up riding the West End (B) which consisted of R68s and Sea Beach (N) which had R32s, R40Slants, and R68/As. Wish I still lived there so I could ride the R160s every day.

The Station is the main line Terminal from Paddington (London) to South Wales, and the start of the West & North Wales Lines. So we have plenty of train activity.
We use to have six railway stations before the big cuts (Beech, forgot the rest of the name), now we're down to one.
