Whats the difference

Yes, the difference between a P32 and a P42 is that a P32 has electrical pickup, like an FL9, but it can also run off of a prime-mover.
it is said that the P32s, will replace the Veteran FL9s in Penn-station terminal.

Well, unfortunately, the FL9's are already out of Penn Station.

But yes, a P32's full designation is P32AC-DM which means it is capable of running of third rail or straight diesel electric. Other than that, the only external difference are the shoes for electrical pickup.

And ours really are nicknamed Shoeboxes... But all our 73s are underrated on diesel.

Electric - Accelerates like a ferrari...

Diesel - what acceleration???

Spa Valley or Severn Valley...

If it's the Spa Valley, 73140 is doing ok and has now been painted in what one could describe as electric blue...
