I didn't know that F40PH diesel locomotives were manufactured up until 2000!! Unless they were rebuilt during that time frame. Except for the the steam locomotives I never knew diesels had more than one manufacturer unless I read it wrong. First I saw that it was made from 1976-1991 but that was back in 2005 when I first started getting into this stuff. Then a few years later, it was 1976-1992 and now it's 1976-1992 for EMD and 1991-2000 for MK/MPHI. Let me inform you that's it Wikipedia just in case you want to know where I got my information from.
Oh and another thing why on earth are the MP36PH-3C and the MP36PH-3S using the old EMD 20 cylinder 645E3 engine? Weren't those used on the SD45s, SD45-2s, GP50s, SD50s, and SD50s including the tunnel motor version of the SD45-2 known as the SD54T-2? I know a lot of railroads complained about the teething problems the engines had because the 20 cylinder engine would miraculously break it's own crankshaft engine which made railroads turn away from the SD45 despite the extra 600 horsepower due to the fact it wasn't worth having extra horsepower at the expense of quality horsepower, money and reliability. That's basically all I know, I mean you guys are the experts at this.
