What type of car will hold "Steel coil"?

I cannot find any cars that hold "Steel coil". I have found various gondolas that hold "Galvanized steel coil" but not "Steel coil."

Please offer some suggestions.

They are like gigantic Weber patio Bar-B-Q grills. The coils are loaded and then the lid is put on to keep the contents from turning to rust.

Majekeer (spelling, sorry) made some if I remember.

These suggestions look good. How do I find any of these you suggest? I cannot figure out how to search using Kuids, and I cannot find any cars labeled "Steel Oil Car"

Sorry, I had meant to say "Coil" in my last post, not "Oil".

I am finding some Steel Coil cars when I search for them, but none of them hold just plain "Steel coil". They hold something such as "Steel Coil Load 1". There must be cars out there somewhere that hold "Steel coil".

Dave snow has some great ones on the DLS (just search steel coil) and there are a bunch on rrmods (freeware) too.

Dave Snows cars are the ones I was referring to in my last post. They are very nice cars, but they don't hold "Steel coil". They hold other types such as "Steel Coil Load 1". I cannot find any cars that hold just plain "Steel coil".

You can add the Steel Coil to the gondolas that load Galvanised Steel Coil.

Steel Coil Load 1 IS steel coil!!! That's just the Asset name.

I don't know what I am doing wrong. The Railgon and WL&G gondolas mentioned above were my first choice, but they will not hold Steel coil. Galvanized steel coil works fine in them. Dave Snows cars also will not hold steel coil. I have decided to reprogram my routes and delete all use of steel coil. Since Galvanized steel coil seems to work perfectly, I will just use it instead.

You need to add the Steel Coil in the properties window for the gondola. Use the same line as the Galvanised Steel Coil and click on the black cross in a white circle, then select from the list that appears.

Downloaded more misc. Coil Cars

Dave Snow and others, thanks for good info here on Misc Coil Cars, I went into my CM and ck'd my inventory, after which I downloaded Dave's and some other Authors cars from DLS, also grabbed some Unload/Load facilities too, over the years in California I've seen a lot lot of Rolled Coils on RR,,,, and on Trucks headed down FWY's to factories, 18kLbs a piece, :hehe: and idiots who tried to steal them with a pickup truck, LMAOF, never heard of funnier story from a local trucker.

Anyway, I keep learning what the CM Mgr can do, now I just need to learn how to work with AssetX when I get some time. Yup your right, I need to read the read the darn instruction manuals and play with PEV's tools..........Have a great day all!
