what the flippin' heck!!!!!

Guys,

I have been working on Widowmakers Paddington to Bristol route which comes in 8 parts, to save time I have been working on only the various section I want, basically where ever there is a station bay I have put a station in and a small town roads etc including replacing point levers with motorised ones BUT everytime I try to join these modified sections together by creating a route or merging routes I find all my work and more has gone completely, yet it is all there if I go to the individual parts.

I have tried merging both via route layer and session layer and neither has worked -wtfh am I doing wrong????

TIA

I think there is still an issue in ts12 with the merging fonction. You should type: ''merge'' or ''merging'' in the search tool box...you might find the answer.

What he posted is a very clear explanation of a well known issue.

Hints - merging does not work in TS12 unless you have SP1 and HF4 installed for TS12
Always make sure your merging a smaller route into a Large route not the other way around - ie have the large one open and merge to it
Renaming one of the route layers before you merge also helps

Calm down. I don't understand what you mean.

Thank you all for your quick responces.

Clam1952 - I read Shane's tutorial and that is exactly what I am doing and it still fails except if I add a blank board
NSWGR_46class - I should have the latest version (unless there's been another update in the last three weeks) I'm currently on 61388 and I save all the modified section under a new name.

Cheers and thanks again Guys

I have successfully merged all eight parts of the route into one route so it is possible. Admittedly I did do it before making any changes to the individual routes.

A couple of points that might help.

Before you start merging make sure you change the names of the route layers in the layers tab in the route editor for each route you want to merge or you will get an error about the two routes having the same route layer name. I believe Shane's tutorial has a way round this but I find it a lot easier to change the names before I try merging.

Were the changes made in the route editor or the session editor, if in the session editor then when you merge the routes you will not be picking up the changes you made to the session, hence you do not see the changes you made in the new merged route but they are still in the old route/session.
