what is the difference between the GN Y-1a and MILW little joe?

Near as I can tell, there was really only one Y-1a, which was a wrecked boxlike Y-1 that was rebuilt with a streamlined appearance and EMD F-unit cabs. The GN had about 3000 HP (2.2MW). The little Joes were built by GE for the Soviet Union (hence the name after Joseph Stalin), but delivery was prohibited by the U.S. State Department because of the cold war. Milwaukee offered to buy all 20, but management hesitated until 8 were sold to other parties, so they got 12. They had about 5000hp. (3.8MW).
