What is the CMP??

Content Manager, also known as CMP, CM2.0, CM3.3 etc, is the tool used to install and manage assets (including fixing, validating, etc)

"CMP" stands for Content Manager Plus, the version of Content Manager included with TRS2006 (and possibly Trainz Classics?). Newer versions of the program drop the "Plus" from the name and are thus properly called simply Content Manager, or CM. Nevertheless, some members of the community still refer to the program by the old "CMP" name. :p

The real CMP is just an older version of the CM that you have in TS2010. ;)

Regards.

ok cool thanks. now is there a program i can use to install the assets into my game faster? like i saw on another thread someone mention something called download helper pro. is there a version of this for TS2010?

download helper is used to download contents from dls (now if you dont know what is dls then its download station) by using cm(content manager)

That's for very old versions that don't have download helper, which is in your content manager, there is no magic quicker method of installing items. Content manager is the fastest option there is.

And it's apparently no longer on the website either.

Get yourself a FCT. It's only $22 or $25 bucks a year. This will make your downloading nightmare less of one.
