What is te point of the 'Rail News' section?

There is a sub-forum in the Trainz Connections section called 'Rail News'. There is only 1 thread, and it hasn't been updated since the 23rd of June. The description of 'Rail News' in the 'Introducing Trainz Connections' thread is as follows:
Trainz News will cover news updates from anything related to trains and rails. The common topics covered in this section will be Rail event news, Special runs, Commission or decommissioning of trains, community meet ups, model railway news etc.
Isn't this basically what 'Prototype Talk' is for? Even if new threads do appear in 'Rail News' it will never be as popular as 'Prototype Talk'. May I suggest moving the only thread in 'Rail News' to 'Prototype Talk' and deleting 'Rail News'. Is anyone else with me on this?

Agreed 110%...
The forum was great the way it was before. Most of these new sections are extremely repetitive and pointless.

On top of that, no one is allowed to even post in it. Sorry, I can't rely just on moderators to make interesting threads.

I'll see your 110% and raise you 10%! Submitting a written article to someone else for posting is just wrong. Now, having said that, if it was set up like "the Suggestion Boxcar", that would all right to me.

I never visited the Rail News thread, as the thread didn't interest me with the topic it had, but I do always visit the Prototype thread, as there is always something that catches my eye.

I do agree that the Rail News thread is kind of pointless, especially when you already have something very similar and more popular already in place.

I have to say, I don't actually visit any thread. I just open the forums, click "What's New?", read over what interests me, and move on. The only time I've ever paid any attention to the thread hierarchy was when I've actually started a thread.

In a perfect world, other sections such as Freeware Announcements and Payware Announcements would be pre-moderated as well, which would prevent so much confusion.
That would eliminate threads containing a WIP that belongs in Screenshots, threads posted in the wrong area or people just posting pointless "releases" that never get released.

Yeah, that's true Woodman, but it's pretty much "Lord of the Flies" in here now! I'd like to say more, but somebody just blew the conch shell!
