What has happened to this place?

This site is totally unrecognizable from the way I remember it. Okay, I been away awhile, but this is ridiculous. I have never, never, been forced to purchase something useless to get on the DLS. But, I finally wade thru all the new nonsense here, and get to the DLS, and guess what? I have to buy a first class ticket to access the DLS? Since when? I don't know how you do things in Australia, but if you tried that here, you'd be facing a huge law suit from the Feds. And I guess I can kiss my 20 bucks goodbye for that Aerotrain download that didn't. I have no idea where the hell that thing ended up, but it sure isn't on my TS12 pick list. I guess I shoulda just stayed away and played with my old 04 version. In fact, that's what I'm going to do. This isn't worth the strain and irritability. CIAO.

According to your timeline, you don't own a 'registered' version of Trainz, maybe this is why you can't access the DLS.
If you register your copy of TS12, you won't need to buy a FCT & maybe your Aerotrain will show up. ;)

Pouncer - I realise you haven't been here for a while, but either a registered version of TS2009 (or later) or a first class ticket is required to access the Download Station. This has been the case since 2010.

If you have previously registered it under a different account, try logging in under that account.

Please don't feed the Trolls.

If this guy really owns a non-pirated version of the software, they have plenty of means to correct their situation, otherwise it is just a rant by a deadbeat wanting something for nothing.

Good Morning Pouncer

To be able to access the Download Station, you must register your Trainz serial number in your account, irrespective of the version. This requirement has been in place since the original release of Trainz.

If you are experiencing issues, then please contact our helpdesk via the following link: http://support.trainzportal.com/

Or you can contact our helpdesk via the support page on the simulator central website.

Thanks for the offer cascaderailroad, but Skype and I don't get along to well. I have tried several times to get it with no luck. Maybe I'm just getting to old for this kind of stuff. And about my rant. Don't judge people until you know the whole story. I'm NOT some freeloader looking for a freebee. I did buy this program, but things have gotten so turned around I'm totally lost. I'm upset mainly because i had to spend several days in the hospital because of the Rim Fire, apparently caused by someone to lazy to use their cars ashtray, I'm still not feeling good, but I'll try to be a nicer guy. Okay? Am I forgiven? Okay. The last thing I need here is emenies. Okay, let's see if we can nail this thing down. I know this copy is registered, because I installed it on my own home built computer, and everything worked as it should. Got my Aerotrain, plus the UP Heritage Fleet pack, and the big UP Gtel coal turbine off of DLS. Now, I just bought a Lenovo all-in-one, and want to do the same thing here. So why the problem? Do I have to re-register this .........oh.oh, RATS! In order to do this, I had to sign in as a brand new member. New ID, new password. So I do have to reregister don't I? Know what? I don't think that will work, because it will claim that serial number is already used in another account. Okay, now I'm really lost. What do I do now? HAAAALP!:'(

Hi Pouncer,

There was no need to reregister your software. Contact the helpdesk. Zec Murphy or someone else that works the helpdesk can help you merge the accounts.

John

Okay, I think I know what's going on here. Just as I thought, when I reregistered the serial number, I was told that that serial number was already assigned to an account. Only problem is, I don't remember my user ID or password from that account, [that's the last time I listen to a security guru about not writing that stuff down]. As for the help desk, sorry, but I've never gotten any help from them before. It looks like my only alternative is to delete this program entirely, go to the store and purchase ANOTHER virgin copy, install it, and register with a whole new ID and password. And this time, by cracky, I'm going to write down my ID and Password, and if them security guru's don't like it, well, too bad. When ya got a 70 year old memory as bad as mine, it's a good thing to write everything down. So, unless I hear different, I'll start working on getting a new copy in a couple of weeks.

The help desk might be able to find you old account if you give them your serial number

Pouncer, I do believe the good folks at N3V are able to locate the user account associated with any specific serial number. Just send them a polite ticket describing your situation in brief, then provide them all your serial numbers. Should either be able to get back your old account or have them transferred to your current one.

Pouncer, as stated above, give N3v a chance, Zec (one of the mods on here) is very helpful & can get things like this sorted
out, all he needs is something to work with, if you have your serial number, I'm sure he will be able to help you sort it out. :D

Good Morning Pouncer
Please contact the helpdesk, if you haven't already done so, and we can try to locate your account for you. We can't provide assistance with accessing an old account via the forums.

Okay guys, ya got me convinced. Now all I need do is get to the help desk and see what happens. I also have a serial number for the failed aerotrain download. I guess I should give them that also, tho I noticed last nite that the price had already been deducted from my bank account. Well, maybe they can give me a 'e-pon' for another download.
BTW, I do apologize for my opening outburst, but I had been fighting that thing for over 36 hours and wasn't in the best frame of mind. I know, I shoulda cooled off first, but the past is the past, let's go and see what the future holds.

Okay, here we go again. I don't know if its me or what, but help desk might as well be out in the Andromeda galaxy for all the good it does me. I can't get logged on. It has a box to enter my ID, and that's it. Oh, down below, is a check box for 'remember me', then 'lost password' then a button for 'login.' Where do I put my password? If I just put in my user ID, and hit 'login,' I get an error. I can't believe I am the only one that can never get logged on to help desk. It can't be the program, it's gotta be me. What in the world am I doing wrong? Well, I need to maybe go off on another tangent. My 'dissapointment cup' is about to boil over. I need to let it cool off. Then I think, in order to bring this to a close, I need to start fresh. I think I'll just rip this program out, throw the disk away, because it won't be of any use to anybody else, buy another brand new disk, and start fresh. And this time write the info down, and I don't care if the security guru's like it or not. :-> At least right now, that seems to be my only option the way things are going. Well, we'll see what happens.

Perhaps use another browser or turn off any ad-blockers, etc.? I'm running Firefox and have ad, social-media and tracking blockers coming out the ying yang and I had no trouble logging in. Under "Login" on the left side were two unlabelled boxes, the top for my user ID, the bottom for my password, and below that a "Remember Me" checkbox.

In any case, if you can enter your user name, hitting "tab" should take you to the password entry field even if it doesn't show correctly.
