What happened to Euphod?

I wonder if Ed will still do the GATS shows at the fiargrounds or if he stopped doing that. Does anybody know the answer to that?

Ed's a pretty busy guy now, so it's doubtful.
The last note I got from him saying that he's bought a new house (paid cash-the one on the left) but hasn't moved in yet. He's also accepted a position as District Recruiting Officer for ACORN. Hopefully he will find time to keep us posted.

Comon' Ed let's see ya post #5001!

( How's your blood pressure, comrade? :hehe::hehe:)

I know that Euphod was a regular contributor and could both helpful and at other times very curt for no good reason. However at the end of the day he is just like the rest of us a Trainz fan but Idon't understand the tendency to elevate people to St Peter status. I am sorry for any ill health matters and I do have a life threatening situ myself but are some oof the entries here not getting a bit pysophantic?

Do try to think twice before posting such comments. Euphod's 5000 posts did not come from trolling, but from helping others out, giving constructive criticism and feedback and injecting some good-natured humor into the forum and contributing a significant amount of content. It is only natural some people miss him (including me).

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

You know, this could be the kind of havoc he was planning to happen. Everyone thinking he was coming back with a new identity, then everyone looks over every member, going crazy to figure out which one he is. If that was his plan, I applaud him.

Well I posted what I thought as that was my intention and not going back on it. I readily acknowledged his contribution and he did help people but he could also be the very total opposite and once knee-jerked to a totally innocent remark I once made in an item. He did not think twice before being silly and ignorant. Contribution therefor does not mean putting up with anything. Having thought carefully at what I was going to say I have as much right to an opinion as all the others have. The tendency I mention is there. Seems that if you don't go with someone's flow somehow you are some kind of lesser person. I am a Trainzer with the same rights ands everyone else. It was a lucky find for me and in between some difficult ill health it is a great relaxation and enjoyment.

This is a train hobby not a personality cult - with respect and not being nasty. I wish no-one any harm so let's not get the wrong impression - Trainz is a fun activity.

It appears that I have hit some raw nerves by creating a monument to Euphod. Some like it and some don't. That's okay. I wasn't looking for approval from the self-appointed Czars of content validity or trying to create some kind of controversy. I felt strong enough about Ed and his contributions to create it, and it appears from the downloads that many others feel the same way.
Maybe I should have taken a poll about whether to create the monument or not. I think not.
I'm not sure that I understand where all of the negativity on the forum is coming from lately. Let's just all try to have some fun for a change and play some Trainz.

Mike

Sounds like someone else had a raw nerve touched...:p
That's okay.
No it's not....if it was you wouldn't have been upset by it...

I wouldn't have appointed myself as a Czar....I would have gone for Master of validity...or Validity Police...

Too many years have passed for me to get upset by such trivial things. It's just curious to me that such a simple creation would seem to upset anyone.

Mike, actually I think you should expand the monument idea. Think about some real world examples.

There have been a few creations made for certain Trainzers both living and deceased. I believe the Alistair driver is one and was done while that person was still living. Someone else, I forget who, passed on and a creation was done for them. But others have passed on, left the community or contributed greatly (opinions on who vary) with nothing for them.

So here's my thought.

A generic monument that is either renameable or reskinable. Users can name/skin the names they wish and makes displays one routes. Similar for example to a temporary display we had in my area twice, a group set up crosses on a beach with combat boots for fallen soldiers, then you have several Sept 11 memorials done in certain suburbs for people who died then and so on.

Maybe a few different monument types including yours. They would need to be generic since as we see opinions on who deserve one vary so with generic models people can name/skin them for whoever they feel deserves one on their routes/displays.

He took a plane out of town to take care of some business!:hehe:

Ish:wave:

I heard that Ed was spotted at a 7 Eleven with Elvis. :hehe:

But seriously folks...some of you may think this rather strange coming from me...but...love him or hate him...Ed has always been a fixture here at the forum. I'll miss him like Sherlock Holmes would miss Professor Moriarty.

So Ed, knock off the typical "I'm leaving forever" routine. I have some choice comebacks to throw at ya. I've been saving up. :D

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. I'm looking for a few good sycophants myself. Any takers?

If you are referring to me Leeferr(I haven't been around since the weekend due to a computer issue so I am really not sure) I wasn't really upset about Euphod getting a monument and all of this attention. It was more of being upset that noone really noticed that Alien3 was leaving due to eyesight issues. That and I was annoyed at the GP guy pulling his 6th "I'm leaving forever" thread, so I was in an odd mindset. I have actually downloaded the monument since it looks really awesome and would look good in a park.

No people, guys you've got it all wrong! He's not leaving at all. He's actually secretly planning a big Metra route or something and when he comes back his first message will be in the freeware section announcements. Notice how he never posted his location? It's because he wants no-one to come in and peek at his WIP. Don't you get it? It saves all the time and effort it takes to type 'No it's not coming on the DLS yet' messages. Because by the time he announces it, it will be on the DLS. Trust me, I know these things!:hehe:

I wasn't really directing my comment at any one member, but at the general mood that I shouldn't have made the monument at all. I'm sure that there are many out there that deserve a monument, but this is the one that I wanted to make. I was not intending to slight anyone else, especially Alien3. It's just that Euphod had been especially helpful to me in the past and I wanted to acknowledge that in some small way. If I feel especially moved in the future to make something else in appreciation of someone else, I should feel free to do so without starting a controversy over it. And no, my feelings are hurt. My skin is too thick for that (and some might say my head also:hehe: ). I'm just confused by it all.

Given the quantity of content he provided to various versions of TRS / TS, I'd say this

is an appropriate tribute. [NB: Is it real, or is it "GIMP"ed?]
