What happend to GaryP's website?

Gary's site is hosted by someone else. The guy re-arranged his site, including Gary's pages, but forgot to tell anyone. I made myself most unpopular over the issue, but eventually I was able to update the TRD, which incidentally, is reaching its first year of operation.

The TRD isn't just another Trainz Community site with heaps of screenshots and a few downloads. it's a community resource that will only ever work if it's supported and promoted within the community that it promotes. Both have been very slow coming. Very few web sites that the TRD supports, actually support the TRD. In fact there are 15 from the possible 150. That in itself is a shame. I get more emails and forum posts criticising the site than thanks, so its future is not entirely secure.

Hey guys. I'm still alive. My site was hosted by another member, Phil_C.
I may put it back up, but I wanted to see if anyone actually read it, LOL.

I just the other day purchased T:ANE

Hi Gary,

I was one who visited your site ages ago -- those tutorials that you had on your site helped a lot in the early days of trainz, sir! :p

Thank you for that, sir!

I'm sure if it's up again, this new generation of trainzer would benefit from the info there, as I did!

Take Care
Ish

I remember you guys! How ya been all these years.
I like the link. It's my site, wow.
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006!!!! That's what is BIG news. HAHAHAHAHA
It's ooooold
Are my tutorials relevant still? I haven't created anything for Trainz in ages. I'm way far into Blender now. gmax had its day. Shame AutoDesk killed it.

This is what's on the page at present for trainzresources.com

Code:
IC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2 Final//EN">

 <head>
  <title>Index of /</title>
 </head>
 <body>
<h1>Index of /</h1>
<table><tr><th><img src="[URL="http://forums.auran.com/trainz/view-source:http://trainzresources.com/icons/blank.gif"]/icons/blank.gif[/URL]" alt="[ICO]"></th><th><a href="[URL="http://forums.auran.com/trainz/view-source:http://trainzresources.com/?C=N;O=D"]?C=N;O=D[/URL]">Name</a></th><th><a href="[URL="http://forums.auran.com/trainz/view-source:http://trainzresources.com/?C=M;O=A"]?C=M;O=A[/URL]">Last modified</a></th><th><a href="[URL="http://forums.auran.com/trainz/view-source:http://trainzresources.com/?C=S;O=A"]?C=S;O=A[/URL]">Size</a></th><th><a href="[URL="http://forums.auran.com/trainz/view-source:http://trainzresources.com/?C=D;O=A"]?C=D;O=A[/URL]">Description</a></th></tr><tr><th colspan="5"><hr></th></tr>
<tr><th colspan="5"><hr></th></tr>
</table>

this is not even proper html, and the first line is not even a recognised dtd for a html document. By no standards, W3C or not, is this any proper construction.

Is this really supposed to be a website?

Weird. That's what's left of it I guess. Yes it was a real site. I remember using Dreamweaver back then to create it before I became a web developer.

Hello Gary --

Actually, I do hope so ... why? I have over 8,000 items at the DLS, but stopped creating stuff like 3+ months ago, and hehehe ... a few steps I have forgotten, like cleaning an object for poly's, and layers, etc ... go figure! LOL

I wasn't around when you were creating Gary, but I heard things about your site, could I see pix of your models?
