What do you like most about trains?

PRR Horseshoe Curve

In "HO", or "N" scale a route would be enormous, with Trainz I can recreate the PRR from the 1930's Altoona Yard, to Johnstown:udrool: :mop:

The spewing plumes of smoke and the ear-splitting scream of a 218 as it clags out of Wiesbaden Hbf heading for the wrong side of the Rhein.

I enjoy the sound of a Diesel-electric locomotive…pulling a heavy train…at night…throttling down for a town...and the same sounds…can be heard…around the world!

Love of Trains

Quite simply it evokes almost every good memory from growing up! :D

Beautifully put however, while UK locos are a pure nostalgia trip for me..... Canadian diesels are also inspiring due to sheer size. Ever been on a bridge and almost cooked as a 6-pack of diesels hauling double container cars accelerates underneath you! Prior to being involuntarily cooked, feeling the bridge vibrate and hear that deep rumbling as "something big" is approaching around "that bend".

I am the only one I know who gets excited when held up by railroad crossing barriers!!!!!!! I then wind the windows down and listen (not too popular with passengers in February!).
