West Highland line

Following a link on a post on the forum I came across a video of a English train on a route called the West Highland line. Cant find it on the DLS but does anyone know anything about that route, where its obtainable from and if it runs in Ts12 version 61388? Thanks

It's one of mine - actually two separate routes, Fort William to Mallaig and Crianlarich to Mallaig. I'm not on my home PC at present but check my user name. The Crianlarich section is also hosted in the file library at www.trainsim.com . All dependencies should be built in or on the DLS.

Be advised it is a very old route built in TRS2004/2006 and not quite up to the standards of today. As to whether it runs in 61388, never tested it myself - if you manage to get it running let me know.

I believe there is also a modded (with permission) version of the Mallaig section about which it might be worth trying, too.

In the long term I hope to revisit the route in T:ANE, albeit I would be tempted to go for a fresh start with full high res DEM etc., rather than try to update something from nearly 10 years ago!

It's freeware, either off the DLS for the Mallaig Extension KUID:30024:100516

or TS.com from the file library for Crianlarich to Fort William, search for trs06wh2.zip - you need to register but a premium membership not required to download at standard speeds.

Fort William to Mallaig is ok in 61388 Vern apart from the lighting issue and transparency issue with some of Billboard Trees, don't think I had to fix anything it just came along with all my stuff from 2009 / 2010 a few SpeedTrees seem to have sneaked in though.

Just had a quick look in surveyor nothing missing that I can see.

You need to be a member at TS.com and go in through the file library to find it.

After downloading and installing the CMP you'll need to run the route through CMP to get the required dependencies.

That sounds about normal, took me half a dozen attempts to get anything to work when I first joined. Download is working now, just checked it.

Hello mjoinr - Yes you are correct. Thanks. I meant to say 'so old' not 'sold' Because I Find that this forum 'lags' so much and misses letters and key strokes when typing, I make lots of typing mistakes and ocasioally miss one when I go back to correct them. Cheers

Hope you are able to get TS.com working to acquire the route. If I get time, I may try and refurbish it in TS12 and have a go at uploading on the DLS, but currently working on my behemoth northern tundra route!
