Well...that's different.

Thought this would be fun to start. This is meant to be a fun little thread that just shows pictures of the...weird.

I'll start off. Imagine running into this on the highway:

You ain't joking. That looks like a railroad coach converted into a road coach, with a truck driving it and that is in 1 word...awkward. At least, it's a single level coach, if it was an Amtrak Superliner, I'd faint.

But imagine you're quietly sailing on your boat when this appears in the water ahead,

Ah. The Kraus Muffet units. Very unique locomotives.

Its a shame that all the US versions(like shown) were scrapped except for one, but it doesnt have its own motor.

If only we could get an order sent to Germany and have a new motor made with upgraded parts, then we could here one run once again...

No, it still has the original motor. Its the forward transmission that's missing. And many of the drive-sharfts are missing off the rear transmission that transfer power to various things.

The Niles Canyon Railroad is thinking of restoring the motor, but not immediately. First priority is just getting it fixed up, it will be able to hook up to other engines, and use MU control as the lead unit, though it will not be under its own power to start with. Either way, its being fixed up quite nicely
