Well I got TS12, just need to get it started :|

It's crucial to have at least the Feb 2010 version of DirectX, if not the June 2010 version, installed otherwise Content Manager will not function.

Also, when patching, avoid going over 49922.

Mr. Turner, I have SP1 HF3. It works like a charm. the patching thing is a bit to far.

I've also got SP1 HF3 as well, but I wouldn't advise installing SP1 to someone who's only just installed TS12 due to the problems with it.

Shane

I would. That way they would have very few faulty assets to begin with instead of 30000000000000

Then again, they may be a good candidate to do it as they will have no legacy or downloaded content to worry about breaking. that pretty much was my situation, I figured I had nothing to lose by patching.

It's not the faulty content that's likely to pose the problems. There are several non-content related bugs that will cause no end of problems to a new TS12 user (even if they've used previous versions of Trainz).

Shane

That's one reason why I'm only advising patching to 49922. At least then they won't have the SP1 related issues to worry about. Once N3V have sorted out the SP1 related issues, then patching above 49922 would be an option.

Shane

P.S. I'm only trying to save new users the headaches that have resulted as a result of the SP1 patch and the hotfixes (I should know, I'm still dealing with the aftereffects)

Do those "hey look I got no problems with SP1" people every stop to consider someone might actually want to bring some of his old content into TS12? *gasp!*
Considering this, the "SP1 will go smoothly because TS12 is bone-stock" argument kinda falls apart.

Good luck SuperSpeedMaglev, you'll need it, should you decide to embark on such an endeavor.

The gasp was kind of over-the-line.... but in all honesty, I patched to SP1 HF3, and Trainz 12 works like a dream still. No issues. As long as you have a good amount of disk space and a computer that can handle the patch (i.e. mine is an HP ENVY M6, one of the newer ones) SP1 all the way up to HF3'll work with no issues.

Yes, same as above, works fine SP1 HF3, etc. Just don't add any DLC or add-ons and then install SP1, HF1 to HF3, with antivirus turned OFF first. You'll be better off.
