Ok now what i did to try trainz this time is my CMP has not let me start my trainz program

1. I reinstalled Trainz

2. I went to my CMP and put in my username and password all is well so far.

3. I added just to try it a simple tree from the trainz download station

4. I installed a tree into the game "no dependencies nothing just a tree".

5. I exit the CMP and double click on my trainz icon the deal pops up and it says the following start, content manager plus, extra, etc

6. I click start and it doesnt do anything it just stays as that screen no sounds nothing.

7. Now i wait for aout 15 minutes and then i wonder i click Ctrl,Alt,Delete just to see if the game is responding and it says not responding i end the game.

8. I try it again and nothing happens same deal.

I know this is kinda detailed but i want to get it figured out thank you if you can help and i did what another member told me to do go into your trainzoptions.txt and insert -into=disable and still same thing happens. thanks for your help.

Sounds like CMP is rebuilding the database. If you try 2006 again and it hangs after clicking Start, then open the Task Manager and see if the launcher.exe process is still running. If so, kill it and see if Trainz doesn't start.

So what do i do here i open trainz and launched it and waiting on it open up windows task manager and it says not running then what. just keep waiting. and does it rebuild the database every time you add things to trainz?

It's been my experience that TS2006 will rebuild the database every time it senses that a single bit is out of place: I.E. all the time. None of my other versions do it that long, or that extensively. TS2006 does it ALL the time and, in my case, it can take up to 20 minutes to complete. This occurs even if I am moving between CMP and Trainz or back. Very frustrating and easy to lose the train of thought (pun intended) between sessions.

K question again one time i did open my CMP and let it go all night just to try and open it and it still didnt take what could i do?

If, at any time, CMP continues to "rebuild the database" and not stop, you can hit the Escape key and the database rebuild will stop. This may (or may not) mess up your database. In any case, it will let you get on with whatever you wanted to do with CMP. Just make sure that the little dialog box telling you that the database is being rebuilt has the focus (click inside it).
