WC Shotz

Tonight I got a call to come in and switch out the 3M plant. aka Minnesota Minning.

We arrived at the yard office and went in to grab the paper work for tonight's run. We get to use one of the only WC SD35's that they own, the 2500, this beast runs like a champ. I love using this thing.

We head out to the yard where the train is already made up and awaiting our climb up to the warm cab.

We get on our way and make the way to the West yard to rearrange our cars for the shove up to the plant.

With the conductor on the rear car, we begin slowly making our back up move to the plant.

We switch out the cars at the plant and pull our empties back to the West yard.

With the cars back in the yard, we run around our train and make our move back to the main yard, but this time running LHF back.

Back at the yard, we pull our train all the way down to the south end and await for our ride back to the yard office.

All for now

Today we got a call to bring an empty ballast train up to Mathy, where up there is a big quarry located.

We climb aboard our 2 Conrail SD80's and get ready to pull our ballast cars north.

We get the clear to proceed north onto the Valley Sub from JO.

Pulling into Mathy, we pull our whole train into the siding and cut the first cut of cars that will be loaded first.

We then take our train and head to Mosinee where there is a small yard where we will put the rest of these cars and then tuck our power away here for the day where another crew will come and grab another cut of empties and head down to the pit and swap out the loads for empties.

All for now........

Is that cab a public download? if so where may i find it

Tonight I got a call to run a train up to Brokaw and give them a hand switching out the Brokaw Paper mill due to there loco is out of service and our 2500 was in Stevens Point for its monthly servicing as well, go figure eh, Lol.

I get to the yard and the first thing that caught my eye was something I hardly see up here, it was a lone WC SW1500 tacked onto some OMYA cars and some boxcars, so I knew right there that that's the train I will be taking up tonight.

We climb aboard our train and start our trip out of town, we get up to Brokaw and start switching out the mill.

As we pull back into the yard, our van was waiting for us to pick us up to take us back to the yard office and call it a night.

All for now...Till our next run

Today I got a call to take a coal train from JO (Junction City) up to Weston. Our power today consists of 2 of the BNSF C44-9W locos and 130 WPSX cars. We pull up in our cab to the siding where our train is sitting, climb aboard and contact the dispatcher to get a TW up to Weston.

With a TW obtained, we start our way up to Weston, the switches are lined up to hop off the Superior Sub and hop onto the Valley Sub.

On the Valley Sub now, we make pretty good time up to Weston. We pass thru Knowlton, Mathy, and Mosinee and out side of Mosinee we start to slow to pull into the yard at Weston.

We pull into the yard here at Weston where we have to break down our train and take the power up to the service tracks where it will get a drink of diesel fuel for the trip back west.

Tucked safely into the siding, we climb down from the cab of the train and climb into the warm cab of the taxi and head to town to a motel where we will stay for the night till our train is empty tomorrow.

All for now, till next time.
