WC Shotz

Ah, you gotta be freaking kidding me. The last thing we needed was something to go wrong! The crews last thing they needed to do for the day was to spot a few empty pulpwood cars on the spur track and then it was time to go home, but one of the pulp cars jumped the tracks and derailed. Unfortunately, their trip home will now be delayed. They will have to wait for some maintenance workers to come up from Wausau to get this thing back on the tracks! It looks like a few cars will have to be re-routed as well in order to cross the tracks.

Train TO47 from Milwaukee to Fond du Lac heads off the CP tracks and back onto WC tracks here at Duplainville

UP Train MPRIT slows to come off the Valley Sub and hop onto the Superior Sub to take it north to Itasca is seen here at Junction City

Only on this outfit would one be able to regularly find a C40-8 being used to perform industry switching and local patrol work....The incredible long-hood visibilty and road service excitation help make the engineer's job a much more pleasurable experience on such assignments....With sawlogs on the head end which is destined for small mill at Goodman, the two flats and WC Megahauler will be spoted at Cavour for pulp loading.....Service West of Kremlin is sparse, and trackage between Cavour and Argonne is now dormant and slated to be removed from service.....At this time, line is devoid of service between Rhinelander and Cavour, totalling 40 miles.

Coming back with 2 empties, the local lugs its small train back towards Powers MI and then onto Gladstone MI

More work has been completed and everything has been completed on the south and east side of the big Lake Mohawksin in Tomahawk. The only part of the route that needs to be finished is scenery and ground textures on the Tomahawk Railroad part which is the 5 mile spur to get to the big mill.

Cutting across County Highway S here on the outskirts of Tomahawk is the spur for LP Corp in Tomahawk. Heading off into the distance is the CN main to Wausau.

Straight ahead is LP Corp. There are 3 sidings for this customer. From the looks of it, they get centerbeams and tankers and maybe box cars? If anyone has any further info, it would be much appreciated.

The first switch for LP Corp. On the latest Google Earth imagery there was an empty centerbeam sitting on the far left track and 2 tankers sitting on the middle spur.

Various piles of pulpwood is stacked on the west side of LP Corp.

These next 2 are comparison shots of LP Corp in Tomahawk. Both are areal views. One is from what I have built and the other is the real deal from Google Earth. This is about the best I can possibly do. I could not lay the spur tracks 100% accurate as I had to move them a little bit in order for the tracks to shoot inside of LP Corp.

They make Particle Board, the reason for pulp, and may be a product called "L-P Innseal Siding," fancy name for sidingfrom particle board (OSB). Just a guess, the tank car may contain adhesives polymers.

Nicely done Matt....Very nice.....Nice to see that part of the route done :Y:

PS....Now we just need to work on a route from Pembine to Rhinelander as then the whole NE side of the state would be covered along with the CN and ELS as so far

Thanks! Rhinelander to Pembine would probably be the easiest part considering its mainly swamp and wooded areas. Heck, Argonne would be the biggest challenge with the small town and yard there. I was thinking of extending Bradley to Prentice next which shouldn't be too difficult.

Here are some more screenshots of the progress I am making with the Tomahawk Paper Mill.

Looking south. The 2 closest tracks run southeast, then south, then southwest to get around the big mill. The track veering off is a siding.

Here is one of the spurs that go into the mill on the north end.

A little further north looking south at the mill.

Tracks here head from northeast to southwest. The siding that dead ends is used for box cars. At least that is what Google Earth is showing.

Zooming out a little bit here we can get a better view of the south side of the paper mill.

Tracks here head southeast to northwest. There are a couple spurs ahead that head into the paper mill on the southwest side.

Furthest west track for the mill. It dead ends shortly after the curve.
