I am running Trainz a New Era on a Mac. I would like to use a wav. file in a engine, I don't know how to add the wav. file to a kuid. Is there a tutorial or a web site I can find out? Thanks funnnyfarm

What is the sound for your WAV file? Horn, bell, engine, ambient, wheels, etc.I am running Trainz a New Era on a Mac. I would like to use a wav. file in a engine, I don't know how to add the wav. file to a kuid. Is there a tutorial or a web site I can find out? Thanks funnnyfarm
Is there a way to create a whistle file for an engine like the Polar Express Berkshire?
What part of the process are you missing? If you take an existing asset of the correct type (eg, hornsound) and clone it, then make the adjustments (change the name, include your WAV file), that's all that's needed.Well I found all kinds of Whistle an horns, what a Whistle and horn is made of and how it works. But nothing that tells me how to take a wav. file and turn it into a kuid or asset so I can use it with an engine. Thanks funnnyfarm
You don't need a clone function. You clone an asset by opening it for editing and then copying the edit folder to a new location and reverting the original. Then change the details to what you want and import the asset from that new location. There is no clone in Mac version of Trainz A New Era. That is what I am missing, and when I do use an Existing horn asset and change the wav. file through Asset Details and edit it it comes up faulty. Sorry Thanks funnnyfarm
Do I need permission from the engine builder? Why is there 4 wav.files (idle, horn_start, horn_loop, horn_end) in the horn kuid file? Thanks funnnyfarm
