Water trough needed!

Hello


I am downloading the BR 9f and the Merchant Navy class from Lesto Route Works. That made me wonder... does anyone know of any working water troughs for use with a tender water scoop? I couldn't find any on the DLS. If it matters, I use TRS2006.

You need TC3, the troughs are included (or the VMD trough included with the K5b Payware loco).

ah...well that's unfortunate, because no shops in my area carry TC3...and I refuse to order it from Auran after hearing stories of people ordering it and it taking forever to get to them...well, I'll just have to wait, I guess...

Just as a note, the Merchant Navy class locos never had water scoops fitted to their tenders as the Southern Railway, and later Southern region (when nationalised) never had water troughs on their network. As Paul mentions though they will only work with either the TC3 water trough system or the VMD K5b water trough asset.

Well...as I said...it's unfortunate that the water troughs are payware or only on TC3...I guess I'll have to water my loco's normally until I can get my hands on TC3. Thanks for the info, guys!

both of those problems are because it was just released earlier this week. If you order from Auran in a week or two you shouldn't have much of a wait. Or possibly by then your local store will have started carrying it.

I sure hope it will arrive locally...but when your largest retailer in the area is Wal-mart...your chances are slim...

Maybe I should try making a water trough? I edited a coal loader to see if it would work...I just tried it and got a coal train to load at over 60MPH ! Now to edit to load water. --EDIT-- I got it to load water now...does anyone know how to make it to that the industry activates the water scoop instead of the water hatch?

You have to send the tender two messages, to lower the scoop the message is '"SCOOP","START" (msg.major, msg.minor) and to raise it again "SCOOP","STOP".

Okay...I'm having a little trouble doing that. My knowlege of scripting is sketchy at best (read as "I don't know what the heck most script commands are. It's pure luck that I was able to edit the loading script without messing it up.":hehe: ).
