Warning to AVG users

I'm so glad I dumped AVG........ lets hope anyone affected has an alternative means of getting on line or they could be stuck wondering what's happening and without a means of fixing it.
 
Actually, if you are running Windows 7, there is a fairly simple fix.

When booting the computer, use F8 to get into the startup menu then run Startup Repair (which should already be present on most OEM systems)

Also, they have released a fixed update - it should be installed as soon as possible.

It's the first time I've known that happen since I started using AVG (a few years ago) - I remember McAfee doing the same thing not too long ago as well.

Hmm, this seems to be with the 3292 virus database build from wednesday 1 december. As whitepass, I didn't have any booting problems this morning and the buildnumber at the moment reads 3293 from the 2nd of december. Lucky I guess.:hehe:
