The slang term "Waffling" usually means going back and forth regarding your position on a certain issue, procrastinating on making a desision, or being evasive. I've never heard it used in reference to going off topic in a forum. Maybe someone here made up their own definition.

To me it means being much too verbose when talking about something, so that the listener loses interest. My wife (bless her heart) is an expert.
