Vista, Trainz 2006, access violation

Greetings, I have just purchased Trainz 2006 however I cannot get it to run on my sweet computer. The following error occurs (from jetlog.txt). I have tried to update to the latest version but the updater gives a "files not found" error.

Have you run TRS2006, before installing the patch (SP1) - if this is the case, then you have corrupted the installation. It needs to have it done in a specific way, or you'll get endless grief and errors. Do a search on the forums for the speicific methods to install TRS2006 correctly, and you should then have no problems - all things going well

Are u running an ATi Video card - if so check to see if vista has updated the driver - is this is the case back date it to the install disk version
If Nvidia card then open the advanced 3d settings manager in the Nvidia control panel and turn nearly every thing off or Auto and set any option to application controlled that has it. Then reinstall trainz from scratch.
i have seen similar problems on customer pc's trying to get trainz 06 running.
