Virus issues on MediaFire download pages

Yesterday I was trying to download a couple of the MoPac items from the new Steam TrainzWorks site. The downloads come from MediaFire, and I got a trojan attempt in the form of a fake "Microsoft anti-virus has detected that your PC is infected" warning. Had to kill Internet Explorer from the task manager. Today I'm getting intrusion alerts from Symantec when I try to download files from MediaFire. Apparently the Symantec zero day threat detection now sees this attack.

What I saw was the MediaFire file download display, a pause while it loads the normal ads, and then the virus loads. yesterday I was able to download the files I wanted. Today Symantec kills the page immediately.

Be warned, people.

That's going to affect quite a few creators and users, as I know that some other creators also use MediaFire.

Luckily for me, I'm unlikely to be affected by any virus attempts on my site since I made the DNS/provider changes a few days ago.

Thankyou for letting the community know though.

Always Right click, and from the drop down list on your PC, click "Open".

This way you are not re-directed to another site.

Make sure you are downloading the CDP, and not a unrelated program such as "Lilivid Download Manager" or "Play Tanks" ... etc ... trial games.

Norton AV will warn you, and will block the unsafe site, so it will not infect your PC.
