variable speed boards

hi can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong please?
i am using 2009 ,build 40040. when using vsb nsw speed boards the xpt does not seem to operate. i have set the signs to std 80,freight 60,xpt 160,enable xpt speed limit-yes,driver speed rule is running ok and the driver speed rule is enabled and type of train selected. the std and freight speeds work ok but the xpt still only runs at the std speed. how can i get my express (i am using the ice train and tgv) to run at full speed?

It could be using the 160 but because of other factors only running at half speed 80. Remember that if yellow signals or other things AI thinks it sees up ahead it will reduce the speed to half. Try setting your 160 to say 130 and see if it runs at 65. This will tell you what is going on for sure. Carl

i have tried different speed settings. the signals are green with a clear track. the hud v2 shows the upper speed limit up with the train speed but only shows the std speed in the "approach signal" in the lower half of the display. as the train passes the vsb it gives a quick flash of the xpt speed. then goes back to the std setting. i have even tried using different engines instead of the ice and tvg just in case they were not responding.:'(
